No interviews

I am no expert on the legal side of it but surely if the issue was just not wanting to discuss the Pearson suspension or what happened between the Chairman and the Manager a simple 'no comment' would have worked - this being if asking Radio Derby not to ask questions regarding the ongoing situation wasn't successful.

Surely there is as much (if not more) chance of national media asking the difficult questions because they don't rely on the relationship with the club in the way RD do.

Yeah that Owen Bradley is a right so and so, I blame him for the last 3 failed seasons!

Mel Morris on the other hand, he can do no wrong.

I don't recall one OB interview that warrants a MM/DCFC ban, if they get this touchy over nothing then it doesn't bode well for the future, and we really don't need a Billy Davies or Mike Ashley situation at our club

Maybe Radio Derby should be a little more professional. They sound like fans on the radio and a couple of mates having a laugh. It shouldn't be the case. They get paid to report on radio Derby.

I may be wrong  here but radio Derby are responsible for some of the negativity that surround the club. Granted, twitter takes the lion's share of the blame, but they are far too emotive when describing either commentary or news about  the club.

They need to be more impartial because as far as I am concerned they contribute the 'soap opera' more than anyone else.

In saying all that, I don't think it was wise of MM to ban them. Maybe he needs to be more professional too.

I've never got this view that Radio Derby are responsible for negativity.

It can't be easy having to describe football that consists of sideways/backwards passing, poor decision making and mistakes.

To describe Derby County as a soap opera is hitting the nail right on the head, If MM doesn't like it he needs to sort things out his end asap.

I find the commentary very pleasant, the banter between ed and rammage is quality and as a team the three of them work well.

Sorry if this is hidden elsewhere in the thread and I've missed it, but can anyone tell me what Radio Derby actually said concerning the interviews?

They just said something along the lines of "If you are expecting us to be interviewing Chris Powell right now Derby County have declined to conduct any post match interviews with BBC Radio Derby today" not word for word quote but thats the gist of it.

Bizarre (and worrying) decision. I get the impression Mel likes to get his hands dirty - staying involved in day-to-day affairs and decision-making rather than letting a team of trusted specialists get on with running things (i.e. Sam Rush and co).

I was hoping Mel would be more of a Steve Gibson type than a Mike Ashley, but this latest move is very controlling. Surely in Mel's position you have to accept you can't control everything to that degree?

Mel Morris is a disgrace. That should have been patently clear when he burst into the dressing room last year. I don't care that he's spent a lot of money; the money he's spent could well have made us worse by breaking up the tight knit squad.

And what about the money he spent paying the mortgage off or the millions he has poured into the academy, basically securing the long term future for the club?

Without wanting to get personal I think fans like you are a disgrace.

By all means say he has made bad decision etc but at least have the decency to look at the picture.

Thanks. If this is what it seems, I think it's pathetic behavior from the club.

One thing for absolute certainty is that nobody knows anything and everyone is surmising opinion as fact !!.

I was at the game, sinincan answer any questions you may have about the game.

Wish regards to any off field shenanigans, there is due process regarding HR processes, that are enshrined in Employment Legislation. Until due process has been completed, nothing is in the 'public domain' and even then it still remains 'private' company information and does not have to be made public.

Never been a fan of the current RD commentary team which occasionally borders on pantomime but in this instance, without knowing the reasons behind the refusal to allow a post-match interview, I hope the DCFC senior management team realise that to extend this isolation beyond today could be extremely damaging to the relationship between Derby County and its' fans under the current ownership. If they felt a point needed to be made (whatever the issue) then they have done so but that should now be the end of the matter.
