Ooh… needed that!

Skiddaw, Lake District this avvy…  not a mention of points deductions, liquidation, nor Permed hairstyles to be had!

Ready for the fight again now!

Head further North tomorrow to Dumfries, to meet up with laddo in a sky sports pub before he swans off to Cambodia for Lord knows how long.

Is that trail of "something" in front or behind you?

Turn the photo around 90 degrees clockwise... it's a cinder/flint type track(?), looking uphill, with leftover snowdrift on the left.  The track runs bottom to top, so no scrambling needed, but it is very steep for the first 40-50% of the ascent.

To our shame, we didn't quite make it to the top, and we turned back down 5 minutes later!  Probably only about 3/4 of a mile short of the summit!
The point of reaching the top (for us)  is to sit and have a picnic, and post the views on here!  We'd have been too cold just sat having lunch (was ok whilst still on the move).  It was extremely windy (experience suggest 50-55mph gusts), and the views would have reached about 6ft in front of our noses, due to the ever thickening mist!

Views from lower down, earlier in the day, weren't too shabby, though...

Currently on a Scotland road trip for my 40th with the missus, used Carlisle as a starting point then on to Dumfries, Ayr, Fort William.

Tomorrow heading over to Loch Ness and Inverness, Monday Loch Lomand and Tuesday Glasgow.

Have to say the Scottish Highlands are stunning, seriously stunning.

The snow possibly made it more picturesque.

The drive from Glasgow to Oban via Loch Lomond is stunning at any time of the year.

Enjoy Inverness, its a gem of a place, some lovely restaurants around town and the Black Isle bar is great for a local brew.

Heineken and Corona?  at least get a Tennant's down your neck ?
