First holiday abroad since Christmas 2020 - say holiday, still having to work. Anyway today is Sunday, so a few beers and a morning prayer, looking at the rubbish posted on this forum, with Fuerteventura in the distance.

Is that Mel Morriss with you, hiding behind your laptop?

When you stop to let someone reverse out of a parking space, and they keep going and going, despite your warning horn, up and over the speed bump straight into your car.

Then get out, and ask why you've driven into the back of them!

Hope you have a witness.

Only the wife, who was waiting to be picked up, so witnessed the whole incident.

The guilty party changed their tune when I pointed out I had a forward facing camera, even though I don't.

Car park at a tramstop, so hopefully well covered by CCTV.

Soz mate, was there much damage? Looks like a low speed jobbie.

It was low speed, seeing as I wasn't moving.

Pushed in the bumper, but not broken the paint, although on a sharp corner, so unsure how to go about fixing it?

I could probably get it sorted by Dent Devils or such like, but it was the attitude of the person who did that got my goat.

I'd just turned the corner of the car park, when their reversing lights came on, so I stopped well away to allow them to reverse out.

For them to then leap out the car, and accuse me of driving into them, despite me having stopped 10 seconds or more to allow them to reverse, made me go from resigned acceptance to full bloodied raging instantly.

I'll take a lot, but never accuse me of doing something I haven't, that's a red rag to a bull.

It's an inconvenience, and a small thing, but all that needed to be done to avoid the situation was a modicum of care and attention, and basically not to be so effin stupid, and then try to turn it on me was incredible.

I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for me saying I'd got a forward facing camera, they'd be at A&E tomorrow with whiplash.

I’ve seen them pop out dents in plastic with a pan of boiling water poured over the area. But you may need to get your hand behind the bumper to help push it out, or if the dent is big enough, stick a suction dent puller on it while pouring boiling water on it.

Will it go to a claim?  Similar thing happened to my missus, went to the insurance and they had to settle on 50/50 ? he had his missus in the car, my missus was on her own. My missus was fuming, the old man driving was adamant she’d hit him!

We have cameras on the cars now too.

I feel your pain Rev, but where’s your knee. I do wonder too if this shouldn’t be in the things that annoy me thread. You sure you didn’t get confused for a few seconds?

Arh, I see he’s at the laughing stage now? ???

Not really, on closer examination the bumper is cracked near the light, so needs replacing, and the grill is also scored, so likewise.

It's in the hands of the insurance company now, who assure me it can't possibly be my fault from the evidence I've provided, so we'll see how it goes.

I had a cracked bumper plastic welded before, but that wasn’t an insurance claim.  I’d expect a claim just to stick a new bumper on as it’s less hassle and a specialist skill, but still cheaper than a new bumper.

I hope you get the claim mate.
