Having heard Warne’s post match interview, I am convinced he’s the man for the job. He clearly knows what the problem is, his signings have on the whole been outstanding and there is a clear game plan that is evident on the pitch. He’s a real leader and has the backing of the players and a tactical understanding second to none in this league. He’s not responsible for our flaws. I think we can all agree he’s aware of what’s missing and would have addressed it if he had had a couple of transfer windows different to the ones he did have. Let’s get behind him - he’s the man and he wears hats!

Are we seriously playing Nyambe in LWB?
It's nearly as desperate as when Clough played Dean Moxey up front

NML starting every game is getting ridiculous now. It's so evident he needs to come off the bench now and again.

Graham Potter would be way out of our league. And Nathan Jones? The argument that some put forward against PW is that Derby is a far bigger club than Rotherham. He’s only succeeded at Luton and failed at both Stoke and Southampton so surely the same argument?
Exactly and if you have listened to Mark O'Brien's recent Under the Cosh podcast appearance his treatment of players he doesn't want leaves a lot to be desired.

Not sure why people would want Chris Wilder. He looked lost at Middlesbrough and Watford after pretty much achieving all he wanted in management with his boyhood club at Sheff Utd. Pretty sure he will hang around for the Sheff Utd job again if he's needed/wanted but I would have a major red flags on his desire for our club to do it all over again from League 1.
If it was true about the Warne not being first choice makes me question the appointment even more. Why did we rush in hiring a manager that didn't immediately catch your eye when we were doing ok under Rosenior?
Luke Williams for me would be the natural choice. Plays attractive, progressive football (Kevin Keegan-ish scorelines at times) but any manager would need at least a year to bed in. That's why i'm willing to see where we are with Warne till the new year even though i have my doubts the performances will really improve.

It's a weird combination of both of this coaching staff's tactics eliminating any play through the middle from our CM's and the ineffective hold up play from any of our forwards. Both are making us look so predictable and boring.

This is what i imagine if this forum ever met Warne

Thought i'd have a look at Carlisle since i don't know much of them or how they play. So far they have had only one game with over 50% possession which was vs Harrogate in the league cup (51% that game) so this could be a very ugly game to watch in terms of keeping the ball.

That's one thing I found strange from the fans forum. Warne said he will select an academy player if he can play the way he wants. But shouldn't the academy and first team play the same style? The club should have one style of play running right through it so that players and managers can easily be replaced without disrupting the whole team.
Exactly I mentioned this a couple weeks ago. Before we hired Warne the first footballing thing Clowes should have done was figure out what style of football should this club adopt and what will fans enjoy and then hired a manager who fits that or a director of football to implement this from a wider club standpoint so therefore we are impenetrable from the manager merry go round. Currently we have a plan in which if Warne goes by sacking or if he gets snatched by being successful (if pig's fly!) then what? What direction do we go next?
It's so counter-intuitive to not have every single age group playing the same formation because you have potentially a talent in the youth who could never make his breakthrough because the first teams tactic's are so alien to them. Max Bird is an early example. He's been moulded by playing 4-3-3 learning off Thorne/Huddlestone. From what i've seen of the Under 21 and 18's they both still playing 4-2-3-1. How are we ever going to find out if there is a wing back in the youth for Warne's 5-3-2 if that's the case.
Arguably i think the majority of us enjoy a possession based 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 because that's what we've been used to over the last 10 years that's why Warne's football is so grating to a lot of us because we have not been used to this style of play. You could say patience and time could help it but I just see clear gaps in the future progression of the club on the pitch.

Warne after the match:
"But to concede one so late on and I've been told it hits Marlon Pack's arm in the build-up which is disappointing. But you can't allow Bishop on his own in the six when you've got three centre-backs on"
Having watched the goal back this morning I find it quite odd that he's more disappointed of Bishop finding himself free in amongst our defence for the equaliser but not at fact that team completely sitting back and allowing the cross in the first place. Smith, Embleton and Barkhuizen's effort for their goal was shocking. -
Warne on RD 'We weren't at our best'

86 passes and 56 % successful first half.
199 passes and 64 % successful after full time. At least we did a "better" 2nd half. But something need to change fast because this does not look good at all.
So many of those 'passes' are pure hopeful hoofs without any real knowledge of where your teammate is. It's so ugly to see as the home team have no real plan of patient build up play but with Warne as long as you have padded out your running stats on your StatSports man bra you've done well!

How on earth did he not replace Mendez Laing it's criminal! you can see he has got a slight limp on the right leg that's strapped up

It was pleasing to see that they are wanting to delve into signing overseas players/non league players. I was a bit surprised both Warne or Pearce not mention that with the new FA rules coming in we should be able to sign up to 2 players without work permits so the requirements of international caps in age groups that Warne mentioned are going to be non existent now.
I understand that we are league 1 so we were not the most attractive destination but we should dip into the J League. The talent that is coming from Japan has got better each year with more and more players playing in Europe and the domestic league is a lot more physical than it once was. In terms of cost the most recent well known moves such as Mitoma, Hatate were around £1.5 mil with add ons and usually J League teams loan out the player first to see if he can settle in Europe, sell cheap but include a pretty hefty sell on fee if they become a success.
It something that could work and is very low risk.

I'm intrigued to know how many of the signings made by Rosenior would have come last summer if Warne arrived earlier. I can remember in one of the We are Derby videos he claimed 'I've tried to sign most of you at Rotherham'. I really doubt any of them would be here maybe Wildsmith at a push?

I get that as well. I think he has totally underestimated the actual size of the club and the position it was/still in and the structure and footballing philosophy we have played to for near around the last 10 years. It's hard to write that without looking big headed but that's what we are and it's weird that it seems he's quite shameful of that. His defeated attitude towards winning back the fans in the interview this afternoon just shows that he's not totally invested in the football club.
He's painted in a good light that he's open in interviews but i see him as very very suffocating, inflexible and stubborn. At a time like this I bet his insistence on chatting on whatsapp and needing to be in the personal lives of players especially let's say tomorrow after this afternoons performance must really rub the wrong way on certain players.
Another aspect that stuck with me was an Rams Tv interview he did in spain after we sold Knight when he said along the lines of 'player's on the last year of their contract are not going to be committed performance wise'. Most of our squad is out of contract in the summer? I feel he sounded his own death knell with these players.
