kevinhectoring got a reaction from RoyMac5 in Liam Rosenior
Rooney’s pr machine created the illusion that Everton and the rest of the world was just dying to whisk the great man away from under our noses. And that his remaining with Derby (he didn’t) was an extraordinary display of loyalty. And look where he ended up.
LR has nowhere near the same profile, and is unproven as a manager. So any sane individual will see that his sole focus just now will be to secure the Derby job. Because the likelihood of similar opportunities coming his way - ie opportunities to manage teams that are or should be in the Championship - is not at all high

kevinhectoring reacted to Rev in Leicester city in a mess
I've always thought, if I excluded Derby, what team would I like to manage and win the PL with, it would be Newcastle.
The manager who brings success back to their door will be remembered forever.

Rotation policy is simple....
Every 20 mins for Sibley.
Every twelve months for Hoaryhands.
Something in between the rest.... ?

The stars aligned for Leicester They had good owners, good management and lots of luck. For Newcastle for the last 30 years the turds have aligned. That’s changing and if they get it right they’ll be at the top table

I know there are rules about having to pick so many players involved in the previous and/or next match but I hope the club just pay the £5k fine if necessary and pick whoever they want.
An absolute nonsense of a competition which just adds more clutter to an already congested fixture list and any injuries picked up would be especially galling.
Rest the vast majority Liam and get ready for Plymouth on Saturday.
Something like the following would suit me:
Fowkes, Odurah, Grewall-Pollard, Rooney, Roberts, Robinson, Thompson, Aghatise, Nunn, Cybulski, Ibrahim

Don’t think we are out muscled in midfield. Or out played. It’s more that we are out run and out numbered

I agree which is why knight would be perfect alongside him?

Will be interesting to see whether he reacts to the Plymouth game. This starting line up might give us an idea whether he will stick with his planned shape and personnel or whether he will be more flexible and continue to look for our best set up.
The weakness in midfield has been evident in a few games now, especially second half. Will be frustrating if he insistently sticks with what we’ve seen before if it continues not to work. And it will lead to comparisons with last season’s management style where it seemed lessons were not learned and there was a stubbornness in team selection.

kevinhectoring reacted to i-Ram in How are we getting on finding a Sponsor
Maybe David Clowes is like many of us. He is prepared to undertake a task for a good cause, but is a bit reticent asking people to sign his sponsor form. Perhaps his mum will become our main sponsor?

We don’t have enough legs in midfield

Surely in a midfield 3 Knight would the box to box player with McGoldrick or Sibley as the number 10 and Bird holding.
His biggest asset is his great engine he will run all day long, today we just ran out off legs in the middle of the pitch.

Well we’ve been saying all season that we need to make our away form match our home form.
looks like we’ve cracked it.

After our seasons with 32 it’s surprising anyone can afford a ticket

Wasn’t a bad miss. Was hit hard. He had a defender between himself and McGoldrick when it was struck and that and the pace meant he didn’t have time to judge the dip on the ball. So he got himself airborne and was yorkered. He had made a good run and was in the right place apart from altitude
You’re right (well your missus probably) his part in the first goal was classy

The transition back to a stable championship squad will not be easy and the young loanees may play a large part in that if some become permanent. We have some interesting prospects there
We were bound to be reliant on signing senior free agents, but we’ve managed to find a good balance between youth and experience imo
