Everybody, including him, wants the same thing - the sale of DCFC to credible new owners. To move beyond our club being some sort of one man battering ram against the EFL, beset on finding ways to circumvent FFP and prove it's unfairness. One that balances risk against reward by not going out and spending £10m on a couple of very average players on deadline day. A club that is run professionally and with the checks and balances in place to make sure dreams don't strip away sanity.
And, personally, I would like this so as to protect his legacy. If in ten years time he can be sitting with us watching the team surviving in the top flight we can all write this off as a punt that didn't come off. But if we're a division lower than we are now, piecing it all back together nobody - least of all MM - will be happy what that means to the way the fans of this club remembers him.
So get well soon Mel, all the best finding the ideal suitor for this club and getting us back on the even keel it most certainly isn't at the moment.

Hopefully he's chosen to just ignore you, this constant back and forth is tedious beyond belief. He's entitled to his opinion as you are yours, does it really need to be gone over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?

Rooney on a decent budget to bring in the calibre and character of players he wants to play his way - yes please.
I think that sums it up for me.

Full transparency. I was invited to this meeting, but chose not to put my name or the forums to this.
Reason being as I have previously stated, this forum is a platform for fans views, I am not an elected chairman/spokesman to speak on behalf of you all, simply the creator of this platform for fans views which can already be openly seen by the club.
I did not feel comfortable signing on behalf of the forum without consulting you all, and felt my name without attaching dcfcfans.uk held no weight.
My own personal views are that this letter has been created out of concern for the clubs future and regardless of how you feel towards any of the groups that have signed off on it, do not see this as an opportunity to attack supporters groups for speaking on behalf of Derby County fans.
We all love this club. ?

Getting quite bored of all the 'nobody's going to want to buy us' BS. To my mind, most recently, there were three really significant inhibitors to what I would term, serious investors; firstly, the imminent threat of relegation'; secondly, the fear of a significant points deduction for next season and a possibly another season-long relegation fight as a result; and lastly, the fact that a deal had already been struck with Alonso pending EFL ratification. In the last few weeks, two of those factors have already been mitigated and we are now told we have multiple credible suitors. Happenstance?
As regards the last outstanding issue, that being our punishment for our supposed FRS 102 'non-compliance', gimme a break! Does anyone really believe the original DC are suddenly going to turn around and ratify a 12 point deduction, or anything like it?
My predictions for the immediate future: A) The club will be under new, EFL approved and sanctioned ownership inside 3 months. B) There'll be no significant FFP punishment, if for no other reason than we've done nothing wrong. C) The current never-ending pile-on from some on here will thankfully peter out and melodrama and inter-fan sniping levels will return to something like those prevalent before the original FFP charge.
    And breathe....

Couple of days? Pah! We have been minutes from going out of business before now when Stuart Webb did a deal with Maxwell in the toilets of the High Court. We survived and prospered then and we'll survive and prosper now. It’s times like these that make the good times even better.
Every single club bar none has financial problems after little income for a year and a half. It’ll take time but we’ll get there.

The really worrying thing is this....all of this is going to take time, finding a buyer,it all going through, finding out our punishment from EFL etc etc
In the meantime the clock ticks and this was alluded to by Rooney after the last game, I mean lets be realistic  there is every chance this un-certainty is going to rumble on for some time maybe even into next season.
In the meantime we miss potential suitable upgrades, free transfers , players released etc etc and go into next season in far worse shape than when we ended this season maybe even managerless as not sure Rooney will hang around if this rumbles on
It is a mess and the quicker it is sorted the better but this has been said so many times and at this moment in time we seem as far away from being a settled club than ever......very worrying times indeed .....It would be fantastic to be just talking about football rather than all of this off the pitch stuff.

Gisby reacted to DCFC Kicks in Is VAR Ruining Football?
The FA Cup final today was the most high profile instance on VAR ruining football in my opinion.
It doesn't matter if the decision is right or not. Putting the ball in the net, celebrating and knowing it's a goal all in the same moment is the best part of football. VAR puts an element of doubt behind every "goal" and ruins the moment. Every time I see a goal in a VAR game the first thing I think is "is this going to be VAR'd?" Yes? No?... and then the moment is gone and it's just boring, whether it went to VAR or not.
I actually watch less Premier League games now because of it.
Even though VAR would have ruled out 2 of Wednesday's goals last week I still don't want it in the Championship, The Wednesday game last week was brilliant entertainment and if VAR was involved it would have ruined it.

None of us know and if we did would be bound by client confidentiality anyway. We also dont know about Mel's health which may be another factor in how/why the sale is going ahead and being handled or structured in a certain way. I wish Mel all the best personally.  The uncertainty on the club is frustrating and worrying for us all but unless one of us has a few million lying around that would help there is little we can do

The whole of football has turned me off an awful lot since the onset of covid - no fans ( no atmosphere) no tackling allowed anymore, VAR destroying again the atmosphere of football and of course the cheating - I hate the cheating, oh he’s  been clever there oh there was a bit of contract let’s see them in the supermarket when granny goes for an orange, they will be falling all over the place.
football needs to be back to £10 a game to watch at the ground because a lot of people are not going to attend outside of the premiership and we will be lucky to get gates of 18,000 - 20,000 attending no matter what league we will be in next season

I just wonder how much compensation doctors, nurses, teachers, shop workers to name but a few essential workers get after suffering covid19 whilst working. Probably nothing ? and yet a footballer, who let's face it was offered a decent amount of money for doing next to nothing and getting the best possible treatment for his injury for which he was partly responsible gets over 2million in compensation.  Absolutely crazy, madness. I just don't get it!

FFP is all about stoping an unfair advantage .. ummmm well DFC started in the championship, are still in the championship and the majority of parachute clubs continue their existence in the yo-yo world that is the lower half of the prem along with the odd enforced break down with the rest of us lads in the championship. Except perhaps Middlesbrough who seem to have spent an awful lot of money with limited results.

this is tiresome in the extreme and is killing my love of this game.

I understand your sentiment but please don’t forget the fans. We ARE the football club. I remember Clough on ITV, speaking in front of fans protesting against Maxwell, saying that we would be here long after Maxwell was gone. He was right.
Maxwell, Morris, Keogh, Glenn Skivington...we have and will see them all off and will be left standing. We are Derby. We are here because we care and all the mud and poo being thrown at us from all sides can slide off as far as I am concerned because, as much as I dislike it at the moment, I am bonded to and love this football club. So Gibson, EFL, bitter Leeds fans and the twitterati can all sod off.

This is an exercise in the EFL saving face, self justification, and placating bitter football clubs looking to do one over on each other. It is not about protecting football clubs from Portsmouth scenarios or the integrity of the competition.
The EFL is quite happy to overlook Watford and Forest’s unique methods of circumventing FFP (switch/loan players between clubs for fee values to help their compliance with rules), not penalise the overspending of the likes Villa Bournemouth Leicester QPR Wolves, and overlook the dodgy practices of Steve Gibson and the use of his haulage company to help circumvent rules.

They are choosing to follow this grotesque charade and to ruin the integrity of competition with league positions being decided by arbitration panels instead of addressing the fundamental issue, that parachute payments are creating a grossly unfair competition, creating spiralling wages and resulting in clubs needing to spend beyond their means just to compete. Much has been made of Derby’s spending, yet it’s been dwarfed by the clubs that have come down by the premier league, highlighted by the spending and wages disparity between Derby and both clubs they have lost playoff finals to. The irony of all of this is the main club fighting this - Boro - are doing it because we beat them to the playoffs. Did we have an advantage over them? No. They had a bigger budget than we did due to parachute payments!! They blew it on Assombalonga and others and failed.

How are clubs without parachute payments supposed to compete. Eventually the majority of those that do try and compete will eventually come into problems unless they have luck ie. they somehow get promoted. These clubs don’t want to spend over the odds on wages, they are forced to by the parachute funded clubs that set the market rate, like Boro giving Assombalonga £50k per week.
If they try to apply FFP for the past two seasons (average of 19/20 and 20/21) as has been suggested, half the clubs will fail it, they must do, they’ve had massive revenue cuts so how can they comply? Only the clubs who are parachute funded could possibly comply.

We will probably be punished to make a point and then FFP will be scrapped because half the league failing it will be ridiculous. It’s not working, it’s not making clubs more sustainable. How about fixing the distribution of money in the game and introducing salary caps either on players or in line with turnover if player salary caps is too difficult,  it would be far more effective and help level things up.
But regardless of the rights and wrongs of the EFL and Derby. I’m tired. I’m tired of reading about ERVs and FRS102, I’m tired Mel’s war with the other football clubs, I’m tired of all these jokers trying to take over our football club. When can it be just about Football again?!

Think we may be talking at crossed purposes ... my point is that I simply can’t understand the logic of some on here who believe that all three should have suffered the same punishment when the outcome was that 2 could continue to work and 1 could not. Drunk or not is irrelevant the fact that he rendered himself unable to perform his duties as a result of his actions whereas others could continue to perform theirs meant the punishment should by definition be different. To expect all 3 to be punished the same does not make sense. That’s all I’m saying.
