Anyone not just a little curious that this has been completed very quickly?
Would love to know how close the Clowes group is currently, with a certain figure of the past… ?
It’s been going on for weeks in the background. In the public eye it looks quick but as far as I’m aware as soon as CKs bid started to falter they began looking at a deal.

They confirm they have the money - I think everyone can chill. This one is done, just a matter of time. You can tell they have been pushing round the clock to get this done with the lateness of the statement. Put the champagne on ice and sleep well!!

So…all sarcastic comments towards the admins aside, are we right to presume that we are at a stage of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s? Clowes has had his offer accepted, the money isn’t needing to get international clearance and he’s not going to pull out at this stage.
So let’s just relax a bit, we dont need to blame someone for everything!
ps, @Animal is a Ram and @RoyMac5 you need to stop posting when it’s not an update. I got all excited seeing Roy had posted to only find out what he had for dinner!!!
Haha I’m the same as you - when I see their icons against the thread I’m expecting an embedded tweet of some kind.

I'm beginning to think it might not be today after all.
I believe the famous Brian clough quote goes “it only takes one second to complete an extremely complex takeover of a club in administration”. Wise words indeed.

yes i agree completely.
clowes has too much to lose for this to fall through now. not only the ground but also his reputation which is sad to say but thats the nature of the beast.
It’s not going to fall through. It just might not go as fast as some would like.

if clowes can do a deal in less than a week it really does make you wonder why an earth the admins kept extending kirchners deadline
he should have been binned off after the final game of the season when he was given the original deadline
a nice little earner for quantuma though
I think he has been doing a lot of work in the background over a few weeks. Essentially keeping it quiet and getting on with it - key signs of why the likes of alonso and kirchner really were all talk ultimately.

Yep that is literally the Mail making it up. An easy one to have made up mind - our players wages were paid through whomever so that 3 points can’t suddenly be applied. The source is Stretfords problem not DCFC if there’s even any truth in it in the first place.

Wednesday fan in peace
Joe is steady but none of our last 5 or 6 managers have ever trusted him to be number 1.
If he’d have stayed at Wednesday he would have been 3rd in the pecking order, so can understand why he left
As for league 1 get ready for time wasting, the worst officials ever seen and teams upping there game against you as it’s there biggest game of the season. Not much football played in this division either so I’d suggest a few big cloggers in the side
Basically how Derby have played for 20 years ??

Hmm not surprising but sounds like it’s a Stretford problem and not a Derby county one. Ie conflict of interest for the agents ‘code’. He will probably get fined if there’s any evidence of it. If he passes it off as him being part of the bid I guess… nothing to see here??

Possibly on completion if everything comes together in the next three days but if not then quite soon afterwards I think.
Bloody hell, you're making me sound like Alan Nixon now ??
You just need to say ‘But clock is ticking’ and I’d have thought you are one of the same ?

I feel very sure he is and he has made a lot of progress in putting it together before today. Not finalised yet but he's had an awfully busy week.
Do you anticipate some of said consortium will be announced upon completion or is it likely people will come on board in time?

Interim basis? Who is going to sign for us for an interim manager
Admins can’t go ahead and make long term decisions when a takeover is close to happening. I think us having an interim manager is the last of any players’ worries about joining Derby County right now.

You’re saying he’s planning to sell down some of the club shares, after he completes the purchase of 100% of the club ?
Seems like a possibility. But if that’s the one and only plan, why didn’t he buy the club and the ground at the same time, so that we could get on with signing some players?
(Sorry if any misunderstanding)
Because originally he was only ever buying the ground. That has been progressing in the back ground for weeks. It wasn’t until the Kirchner deal fell through that a decision has been made to bid for the club too. It therefore then made sense to announce completion of the ground, a loan agreement put in place and the desire to bid for the club all at the same time.

Who said Clowes is reluctant? To buy the club out of debt?
People just assuming and making it sound like fact.

Give Liam the job.

It’s very clear he obvs had allegiance with whatever strings Paul Stretford was pulling. The day an exit was outlined for this club he walks away. Lost all my respect - ultimately another person with empty promises. He did well with skin and bones but we move on.

Really pleased this is happening !
I just hope some of our Moronic fans don’t hound him out when things aren’t going how they think it should ! I’d be disappointed if he had to take the same abuse as MM has! Some fans have very short memories.be grateful!
As he is a fan of the club (but this applies to all teams) he will know how fickle football fans are and I don’t think the social media mob will have any real impact on owners.
Speculating here, I think he has stepped up his bid to save the club rather than just buy the stadium (which is a done deal apparently) because I imagine he like everyone else is frustrated at this process and probably has the means to save us and run us for a while so he’s gone for it. Either way we should all get behind our new saviour and buy a clowes developed warehouse each.

This is great news for about the 100th time

Surely….. surely we can’t have 4 failed takeovers. This has to be the one now, I have to believe it for my own sanity.

Pinch of salt - but Staff at the club have been told it’s done apparently - mates showed me a screenshot of his chat with someone who works at the club.
