I hate how you can't watch live matches on ITVX on the tv app, so I have to plug the computer into the TV to watch. Can cast my phone too but a bit stop start. Can watch Iplayer live thru TV, why not ITV? Technical or legal reason?

It’s weird you can on some TVs. My Samsung I can and the other one which is lg it doesn’t let you. No idea why.

  2. I think (and obviously not on the same level or with the same quality) but our current way of playing reminds me of how Eddie Howe is setting up Newcastle. And maybe there’s a reason they’re 14 league games unbeaten and we are 12 as it seems to be effective.

Pressing with a solid defence and mixing up passing with longer balls at the right times - there’s a few symmetries there in the system and tactics. Giving players freedom in a structure.

  3. Next year is our year for me. Anything we do this year is just a bonus. To be 7th after the summer we endured I think is impressive outside of the context of how we are playing. Do I prefer warnes style over roseniors? Probably not but in reality I’d probably like something in between both. We are a league one club atm, getting out the league is more important to me than how we play out of it. Whether this style does get us out of it remains to be seen.

Port Vale have sold out for our game - but why have they only been given 2,700?

There was a note at the start of the season about increased issues with matchday incidents involving fans last season wasn’t there (and I mean across football not specifically us)? so maybe we have been requested by authorities to increase the segregation. Just a guess - there might be a more official reason! Did Oxford sell more than that??

  5. Bird and hourihane as a two has not worked the last 3 games. We have not controlled the midfield and they are often overrun and can’t seem to get a hold of the game - but the bigger issue is that we also struggle to get the ball to them.

We end up just passing round the back for ages and then lumping it to the wingers in the hope they will work a bit of magic. Tuesday night nearly everytime the ball was lumped to the wingers it went out of play or they were tackled. Atm it’s so easy to set up against us, press the cbs and get tight on the wingers ready for the long ball and we are essentially nullified. We need to become less predictable.

Tell them that in 135 years Derby haven't finished below them in the league, you could also add that their highest ever league finish was 5th in Division 2 which we would consider a very mediocre season.  Maybe get him a cake and some party poppers to celebrate their achievement. Really rub it in.

Haha but they may finish above us this season!

  7. Whereas I do think knight is our strongest option at right back currently… that’s two home games in a row we have got completely overrun in midfield. Think we need knights energy in there - not sure what’s happening atm but bird cannot seem to get control of the game the way that his talent and physique suggests he should be doing. Maybe it’s the way we are set up and maybe Korey smith would have made a difference yesterday coming on if fit help us get some more control of the game. Think we need a way to combat teams who swarm hourihane and bird.

Don't really get why we should prioritize a "senior striker" with Collins and McGoldrick seemingly fit? Wouldn't a younger up-and-coming striker from maybe lower league or on loan be more appropriate for us?

And keeper as well as right back seems even more important I guess?

Any young upcoming striker would require a fee. So it’s going to either be a prem loan or an old player who isn’t wanted I’d guess!

  9. Don’t think anything more will happen on it now. Can’t see how it can (no legal expert) but stadium not actually owned by the club, new legal entity, already got a payout (for god knows what reason) - don’t think they’ve got much of a case if they ever had to do anything more.

Lets beat them twice this season and help try to make sure they stay down where they belong.

  10. It’s an odd stance to take agree with you … think Carl was probably just being a lil melodramatic ha!

While I agree that Sibley has done well and should start this seems like an odd stance to take before a ball has been kicked. What if he doesn’t pick Sibley and the side he picks goes on the win 5-0, will you still call for him to go? What if he starts Sibley on the bench and brings him on when their defence is tiring and he grabs himself a couple of goals, isn’t that potentially good tactical awareness from Rosenior? What if he starts Sibley and Sibley has a shocker, scores a hat trick of own goals and gets sent off? Is that on Rosenior?

I want to see Derby succeed after a rubbish few years off the pitch, Rosenior is currently the person paid to make that happen, it’s his responsibility to pick the team based on what he sees in training, what his staff have analysed about the game, what he knows the strengths of his squad to be etc, and he’s made a solid enough start to life as the manager. Calling for him to be sacked for his potential selection decision surrounding one player seems extreme to me. ??‍♂️

It happened on 26th December 1978.

    We drew 1-1 at forest.

It was absolute carnage all day. Running battles from Nottingham station to the ground before and after the game. Derby fans were on the trains from 9am and causing havoc in and around slab square. I was 18 and could run like a whippet then. It came in useful at times but my personal memories of that day were Derby being in the ascendency and giving it large, hence the Boxing Day song.

But…. Then why do Man City sing it too? Or did everyone used to scrap on Boxing Day?

edit - just relistened to the city version and realised they don’t sing Boxing Day. But cant make out what they say.
