Not my pics (although these were taken last night) but being 'up norf' now-a-days the Northern Lights are a somewhat regular sight on my early morning/late evening dog walks on Saltburn beach 🙂

You’re very lucky to see them regularly

I have but have seen diddly.

It’s cleared up quite a lot now. It looks like white streaks of cloud at the moment but you can still see some colour through a phone screen. Should see them again tomorrow

  3. I went to one of the semi finals at Eurovision in Liverpool last year. It was brilliant. I’ve never seen so many sequins before. Had great seats. Spent a night in the Eurovision village and saw the Lightening Seeds, local acts and some djs. Met Richie Anderson from Strictly. My favourite act last year was Belgium. Will be having a some tapas and a bottle of wine while watching it from the sofa this year.

  4. Just finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. It was a light read but felt quite refreshing. I read it mostly before bed over the last week and it was nice to just have something to help me switch off easily. One of the main characters is an octopus, which I really enjoyed.

Yes I certainly found I was reading some books just to read them, rather than for pleasure. But it was a great way to try new things!

I'm currently reading A Little Life (Hanya Yanagihara) and absolutely loathing it!

There were odd bits I liked about it but some parts were draining

I did a 52 book challenge last year. Essentially it was to read a book a week every week. It was an absolutely brilliant way to force yourself to make reading a habit and explore a variety of genres. Here’s the 52:

This Is How You Lose the Time War (Amal El-Mohtar)

Klara and the Sun (Kazuo Ishiguro)

The Man Who Fell to Earth (Walter Tevis)

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (Haruki Murakami)

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (Gabrielle Zevin)

Well done! I did the 52 book challenge a couple of years ago. I’m glad I did it but I found I wasn’t enjoying read as much as usual by trying to fit so much reading in. I usually read 35-40 books a year. On book 15 for this year at the moment. Thanks for sharing your list

As much as Adams transformed us this season, I'm not convinced he's a star player in a top ten Championship team

To be a top championship player, you’re talking about being to ready for the move to premier league level. I don’t think any of the team are at that level and for Derby to get to that point, some new players will be needed. I wouldn’t write off Ebou, I can see his confidence growing and his performing well.
As in a promotion in any job, it takes a little while to learn the ropes and settle in, but some people can really excel with that opportunity. This is my bit of positivity and how I hope the team develops. I would be happy with a strong mid table, just into top half finish next season.

  8. Warne has openly spoken about the targets he was given and he’s hit major ones of achieving record points and promotion. The will always be niggles in managerial performance but there doesn’t seem any reason to change PW’s contract at the moment. With the step to the championship, summer transfers, and subsequent changes to team dynamics, it would be good to keep the consistency in management.

I'm more than happy to design it based on the picture, and print it. Perhaps we could have a think about which charity is best for this, decide on a price to sell them for and go from there. All I'd ask is that the cost of the raw materials and postage is covered, or we can sort collection, but the majority can go to charity.

This is amazing! @Lander you an absolute star. I think the Derby County Community Trust would definitely be the best charity. @Archied you’re not just a pretty face, coming up with this idea

Me too eddie ,, the graphic for the tribute on the score board on Saturday would make a fantastic tee shirt , for sale in the rams shop , even with the proceeds to the derby county charities and community work around the area , I would buy one for me and the family

I hadn’t thought about that. It would make great tshirt. @Lander is the printing expert on here

There was no intention to be anything other than nice/respectful... or at least helpful.
The ONLY way (in my opinion) to find out who he is/was... from a topic knowledge starting point of zero... was to read the whole thread, to get a true feel for just how special he was.

Perhaps my use of the word "ignorant" didn't come across as intended... "adjective  1.  lacking knowledge or awareness".

That was clearly the case, in this instance, otherwise the question wouldn't have been posted in the first place.

I repeat, I was merely trying to be helpful.  Apologies if I used the wrong word(s) and/or offended anyone.  I'm no wordsmith admittedly.  🍻

Wasn’t having a go at you Mucker. It was meant in jest

  12. Dan might not have been everyone’s cup of tea, none of us are, but he was harmless. He just didn’t understand some boundaries or points of views as most of us would. Several people have messaged me to acknowledge they weren’t always as patient or polite as they could have been. There are no hard feelings about that all. There’s a difference between impatience or pulling someone up when needed, than purposely being cruel to someone.

My take on B4 as a poster, He is NEVER WRONG, If we pointed out his mistakes he'd come back with an answer, Not the right answer but an answer, We'd correct him, But No...he aint having it still more answers, It got to the stage where me/some would just give in, His enthusiasm was infectious, His positivity was overpowering, His loyalty was honourable, He never got upset with posters...he is one of a kind.

Scraves, Flanges, The food down his shirts, The pain in his foot, Losing his job at the Cinema...he just kept going, Even someone like me felt an affection for him...God bless him 😉

I have to put you right about the cinema. He didn’t lose his job but he had to go back to work despite having problems with his foot. Unfortunately, someone hacked his Facebook and changed his job details from Usher to former Usher. We think it may have been someone he knew for this reason. This really upset him as he was worried about his job at the time. It is partly the reason his posting on here slowed down as he had become worried about people accessing his accounts. I didnt find out about this until after he died. Some people can be very cruel.

Would I have been the only poster teasing B4 that we never caught Pompey if he was around?

Even though I knew he had some difficulties, I used to enjoy a little ribbing at expense of his optimism, however reading this, it makes me sound like a bully! I don't think there's a regular poster/reader here who didn't love B4's valuation of Rams players! 😄

We can carry on chasing them now. If we can finish above them next season, he would be over the moon. I’ve got visions of him bending Cloughie’s ear up above. Never mind the Damned United, they’ll be the Danned United 😂

Anyone spot the guy with a white stick on the pitch?

I just caught sight of him (no pun intended!) teetering precariously back into the stands... with a helper, I hasten to add... down what appeared to be a low but slippery(?) ramp.  He returned towards the Northern end of the East stand.
No idea whether he joined in the bounce!  😁👍🐏🤍

I often see him around the east stand. I was really pleased to see someone a couple of people in wheelchairs on the pitch being part of the celebrations too

I hope you don’t mind my asking ( I’ve not been brave enough to ask before) ,,, how did Dan pass away ? I knew he had health issues , constant ongoing problems with pain but I had no idea his problems were so serious so it was a massive shock when we learnt of his passing on here ,

obviously just say if it’s too painful to talk about

We don’t know the reason for it but Daniel just stopped breathing in his sleep. The ambulance crew got a very faint heartbeat, so he went onto life support in ICU but he died two days later. Nothing showed up on hospital tests or the digital autopsy, so the coroner stated natural causes. He had a cold prior to it but had said he was feeling better. It seems that he would felt very little if anything when he stopped breathing, which is some comfort. The night before he had been at the Crewe away match and had fish and chips for his dinner. I’m glad he was doing something he loved on his last evening. Today is very tough 💔

He was always going to be a big part of yesterday so I felt I really wanted to see you and your dad before the game.

I knew the general area of where you would be but within seconds of going through the turnstile there you were, it was as if someone had ushered me there 😉

It was good to see you @Foreveram
