Imagine he will be bollocking water and them energy gels just before kick off then

Muslims observing Ramadan can’t even drink water during daylight hours. It’s hard to imagine how he put in such a good performance on so little fuel.
Do you think we should put the whole team on a fast. No food unless they win 😂

Great post by @ck- in the match day thread. Thought it deserved moving here so it doesn't get lost in that thread.

When Daniel died I kept seeing rainbows everyday. I know how science and weather works but I like to think that’s his way of saying hello… or guiding dcfc to the back of the net 😂 I got to write a message on the dcfc changing room white board for the team to read today. I asked them to score a goal for Dan. Ebou delivered 🐏❤️🐏

We have a cat, or should I say it has us.  It's black with white paws, short haired, 5 months old, a little wild monster, the terror of the furniture, with such innocent eyes demanding instant forgiveness and a cuddle.  He could tell I was complaining about him and so he jumped on my lap and now is purring and looking up at me with dreamy feline eyes saying, I own you, don't move, I am comfortable now.

I’ve never really liked cats but my neighbours got a female kitten a few months ago and she is adorable. She has really taken to me and comes running for fuss and to play most days. Despite regular contact I’m still very allergic 🙁

  4. I had three months sick leave for stress in 2019. I was being treated appallingly by a new boss at work. I did my job with nothing but praise for eight years and suddenly I couldn’t do anything right. Counselling didn’t help at the time. I left my job without another job to go to. The experience left me with really bad anxiety. I had another breakdown in October 2022 from the same issues. My doctor was great and I started medication and was referred for CBT. It wasn’t effective enough, so I went on to trauma counselling, which was great. It really helped and I turned a corner in June last year. Without this help I don’t know how I would have got through Daniel’s death. My mental health is up and down at the moment but I think I just need time. I only took 10 workings days bereavement leave including the funeral which wasn’t enough but after my previous work experience, I didn’t want to ask for more time. My boss was very kind and supportive and work sent me flowers. Colleagues have been very supportive too. People with genuine mental health problems need to be supported and not be treated as a government statistic.

I agree with @sage regarding Musee D'orsay and Montmatre. Just around the corner from Sacre Coeur (our favourite spot) there is a small outdoor artists market which is interesting to browse around.

The Eiffel Tower is interesting to see from ground level but I wouldn't bother going up it.

Finally, a walk along Ile De La Cite (including Notre Dame) is good.

Luckily I saw Notre Dame while it was in one piece. I loved the sparrows feeding from your hand

Go to Montmarte and walk up to Sacre Couer for a great view. Especially good if you have watched Amelie. The area around has a village feel though you need to dodge the over touristy bits. The nearby Bar le Perchoir has great rooftop views.

    Musee D'Orsay is superb.

    That sounds great. Thanks @sage

  7. I’m going to Paris for a long weekend in a few months. I have been once before, around 17 years ago. Does anyone have any recommendations on things to do? Planning on going to the catacombs. My hubby and I like a bit of morbid history. And musee d’orsay, as I love post-impressionist art.

I'm still here 😀. I understand what you're saying. But......let's say I don't have a phone, tablet or pc. The only device I have is the kindle. Can I go online , browse books in the store, buy and download? Or does it always need another device to do that part?

I can browse books on my kindle but can’t buy them. I have to use Amazon on a phone etc to buy books

    Read 2 books on holiday.

How they Broke Britain by James O'Brien, with chapters on various politicians and advisors who he sees as getting us to where we are now. Thought and anger provoking. If you interested in politics and centre or leftist especially.

The Satsuma Complex, Bob Mortimer's debut novel. Very Bob, very funny with a quirky cast of characters and a tense-ish plot.

@sage James O’Brien will be at Derby Book Festival (late May/early June date tbc) at Quad. I think tickets go on sale in mid-April

I've used the kindle app on my phone. I'm wondering how you get them onto a kindle device.

You just need to set up your Amazon account on the Kindle and you will see your library. You just download the book you want to read as you would using the phone app.
