  1. Just finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. It was a light read but felt quite refreshing. I read it mostly before bed over the last week and it was nice to just have something to help me switch off easily. One of the main characters is an octopus, which I really enjoyed.
  2. Absolutely amazing. Thank you @Owen87ITK ❤️
  3. There were odd bits I liked about it but some parts were draining
  4. Well done! I did the 52 book challenge a couple of years ago. I’m glad I did it but I found I wasn’t enjoying read as much as usual by trying to fit so much reading in. I usually read 35-40 books a year. On book 15 for this year at the moment. Thanks for sharing your list
  5. To be a top championship player, you’re talking about being to ready for the move to premier league level. I don’t think any of the team are at that level and for Derby to get to that point, some new players will be needed. I wouldn’t write off Ebou, I can see his confidence growing and his performing well. As in a promotion in any job, it takes a little while to learn the ropes and settle in, but some people can really excel with that opportunity. This is my bit of positivity and how I hope the team develops. I would be happy with a strong mid table, just into top half finish next season.
  6. Warne has openly spoken about the targets he was given and he’s hit major ones of achieving record points and promotion. The will always be niggles in managerial performance but there doesn’t seem any reason to change PW’s contract at the moment. With the step to the championship, summer transfers, and subsequent changes to team dynamics, it would be good to keep the consistency in management.
  7. This is amazing! @Lander you an absolute star. I think the Derby County Community Trust would definitely be the best charity. @Archied you’re not just a pretty face, coming up with this idea
  8. I hadn’t thought about that. It would make great tshirt. @Lander is the printing expert on here
  9. Wasn’t having a go at you Mucker. It was meant in jest
  10. Dan might not have been everyone’s cup of tea, none of us are, but he was harmless. He just didn’t understand some boundaries or points of views as most of us would. Several people have messaged me to acknowledge they weren’t always as patient or polite as they could have been. There are no hard feelings about that all. There’s a difference between impatience or pulling someone up when needed, than purposely being cruel to someone.
  11. I have to put you right about the cinema. He didn’t lose his job but he had to go back to work despite having problems with his foot. Unfortunately, someone hacked his Facebook and changed his job details from Usher to former Usher. We think it may have been someone he knew for this reason. This really upset him as he was worried about his job at the time. It is partly the reason his posting on here slowed down as he had become worried about people accessing his accounts. I didnt find out about this until after he died. Some people can be very cruel.
  12. We can carry on chasing them now. If we can finish above them next season, he would be over the moon. I’ve got visions of him bending Cloughie’s ear up above. Never mind the Damned United, they’ll be the Danned United 😂
  13. I often see him around the east stand. I was really pleased to see someone a couple of people in wheelchairs on the pitch being part of the celebrations too
  14. We don’t know the reason for it but Daniel just stopped breathing in his sleep. The ambulance crew got a very faint heartbeat, so he went onto life support in ICU but he died two days later. Nothing showed up on hospital tests or the digital autopsy, so the coroner stated natural causes. He had a cold prior to it but had said he was feeling better. It seems that he would felt very little if anything when he stopped breathing, which is some comfort. The night before he had been at the Crewe away match and had fish and chips for his dinner. I’m glad he was doing something he loved on his last evening. Today is very tough 💔
  15. B4 was Daniel Beavis. A lifelong DCFC supporter who died suddenly in November, just hours after attending the Crewe away match. He was only 38 and had held a season ticket for almost 30 years. B4 was his username on this forum where he was well know for his unique take on all things DCFC and his kindness to others. Despite the situation of the club or inconsistency of results, he was unbelievably positive. Dan had learning difficulties and despite what he may have typed on here at times, he was actually quite vulnerable and his world was quite small. His whole world revolved around his beloved Derby County. His death has been a shock to us but his passion and love for DCFC has left an effect on many who knew him, in person or virtually. He was also my brother.
  16. This was Dan at Wembley at the last play offs for Derby. Seems appropriate to repost it today 🐏❤️🐏
  17. How’s everyone feeling today? It was real high at the beginning of the match and the second half. I did have walk around the pitch where I found some of my new DCFC friends. I shed a tear for B4 and sprinkled a few more ashes on the centre spot with my dad. We had several people come up to us to say hello and pass on condolences and congratulations for B4, which was lovely. I don’t want to sound like a party pooper but I’m feeling really flat today. Watching the football and the excitement of the race for promotion has been a welcome distraction and a tribute to Dan. It might just be my body and emotions telling me I need a breather over the summer. Maybe we need a thread with our highlights of the season and celebration pics? You all amazing at picking me up. I saw a post on another thread earlier that said ‘when are we signing Mbappe?’ 😂 That made me smile
  18. I’ve not got Rams TV. Is it possible to see a clip somewhere? @Owen87ITK
  19. That’s the B4 influence talking 😆
  20. I really don’t know. I’m gutted to have missed seeing it ☹️
  21. So sad to have missed this but thank you Owen
