rammieib
Either way - whoever comes in I’m pretty sure that I think less than 50% of us will say they improve us. I generally think we’re just desperate now and we’re fishing in the desperate bucket. Reggie Greenwood

Carl Sagan
1 hour ago, twelveincher said: Chesterfield fans on their forum saying Brown is in with them for talks today… might mean we’ve got something sorted? Even from Brown's limited minutes so far I'd definitely have him above Collins in the pecking order. Give him more opportunity and he'll quickly improve, as he has at every level he's played. Warne is simply too blinkered by having a lower calibre academy at Rotherham and too starstruck by the (equivalent to ours) Premier League academy graduates sent our way. May Contain Nuts
33 minutes ago, FlyBritishMidland said: Of course you do if you have a long term view. Send Brown on loan this season to continue his development. He comes back for next season with another year of regular football ready to fill the one of the spots left by Collins, Yates and Washington and be regular part of the first team. Then it’s done in a controlled way allowing the player to grow and develop. That was always Cocu’s approach and he’s the manager most bought into player development than any other we’ve had in the last 10 years (not counting Rooney as he was forced into it due to circumstances). His plan was always loan a player in a position where your academy players are lined up and let them develop further rather than be rushed. That way you allow them to grow, whilst only blocking their path for a year. Throw them in to soon, you could ruin them. Make a permanent signing and you block their path for 3 to 4 years and they may leave. The part of your post I was replying to was about his confidence though. He scored plenty last season in a team who won enough games to finish in a playoff spot, and who went on to win a cup at Wembley with him scoring the winning penalty. Instead of giving him a proper chance to capitalise on that you're sending him on another loan to boost his confidence further (?), even though that loan could - through no fault of his own - be a failure and set him back another year. You're sending him on loan where his misses have no consequences, but nobody in history has ever learned anything without there being consequences for their mistakes. All you've done is pushed the issue on another season. The same excuse still exists - a couple of big misses and he's no more prepared to deal with them than he was a year ago. A couple of goals 'surprise' goals in a game that matters at Championship level could provide just a big a bost as scoring 10 in League One. Witcoop spoke on the radio? I was almost convinced he wasn’t a real person to be honest. Absolutely miles off it with many of his updates, that seem mostly like guesswork. Eoghan1884
Adeboyejo suits us perfectly wins a lot of headers, is very strong aswell as having pace. Not exactly a great goalscorer though. r_wilcockson
