Today is the level we need to be at to compete well in the Championship and my main concern was finding higher gears this season, because we'll need them. If this is the direction of travel then all of the negativity will vanish pretty quickly I'd imagine! In fairness, all any of us smug folk have asked for is for us fans to have a little patience. It's not just been an unpleasant time for those picking holes and some would do well to remember as much. See the last two home wins against established Champ teams (as we used to be) with much bigger budgets than us. Think we’ll all enjoy tonight though. Ghost of Clough
43 minutes ago, Loughborough Ram said: But there are no conclusions to be made after 3 league games, and especially before the window shuts. Paul Warne has brought in decent players and should be given the opportunity to formulate a system that works. This time last season we lacked cohesion and Warne was struggling to get results, but as the new players gelled we went on to achieve promotion while breaking countless club records. Surely the lesson to be learnt is a little patience is needed by the fans, but unfortunately that's not the modern way, instant results is all that matters. Bit it isn't 3 games... He's been our manager for over 100 games. The discontent is based on the pattern over the vast majority of those games He should already have a system in place and recruit players to fit it... not still trying to figure the best setup. Play like today on consisten basis and there will be no complaints. Even defeats like the Watford game are acceptable. That sentiment goes both ways, as evidenced by the gloating in the faces of some imaginary people who actively want us to lose football matches. But it doesn’t go ‘both ways’. There is a simple unwillingness to understand the implications due to until this summer we have not paid a transfer fee. There were only so many freebies available, at the required standard and who wished to come to Derby to build any squad. PW has done what he was hired for so far with limited resources. If we improve and stay up this season he will have been successful again. Anyone thinking he should have been sacked is the epitome of what is wrong in both football and the world…but then to bleat on about it as if it is a valid opinion is even more moronic. Not all opinions are valid. Some just make you look stupid. Truckle

In the comment I initially replied to you said that some people are only concerned with being right, have a look at some of the posts in here tonight deriding anyone that's been negative over the last few weeks and tell me with a straight face that they aren't delighted to be proven right (even though it's to early to see which way things will go).
