  1. Ah I hadn't heard prices were going up further. That does take the piss a bit especially in parts of the ground that had higher % rises. Was thinking of going to buy a second ticket for family but this will probably stop that.
  2. Hold on, pricing structure ? Haven't we just had a big price rise - 20% in my case.
  3. It'll be interesting to see what our strategy is. Will we look longer term and spend money on young prospects who may then generate a profit or will we look to established players on frees again who are likely to command higher wages and have little sell on but will mean less initial outlay while we wait for our academy to start producing.
  4. I really wouldn't want stands named after ex players/managers - I just hate all that living in the past.
  5. I genuinely don't understand why people wouldn't give Fozzy a year based on his performances over the last 2 seasons. Yes at his age you can't look long term but he's versatile, played well and played quite a few games.
  6. It can't be can it if the reports that the efl put a 12k a week limit on us were correct. If I remember correctly last season Hourihane was reportedly on that as top earner.
  7. Curtis Nelson 8. Very solid performer - if he was a young find he'd be higher but we signed him in his prime so that limits sell on potential. Callum Elder. 4. Never really got going - maybe a bit unlucky but probably behind Sibley and Fozzy for me Joe Ward. 4. Crosses a good ball and a great first touch but another that's never really got going. Not convinced he can defend but time may tell Sonny Bradley. 4. For the wages he's on and his age what he's provided has been the bare minimum. Probably will score higher than 4 for most based on recent form . Josh Vickers. 5. Looked competent when needed Kane Wilson. 7. Right age, very skillful, bit of pace. Just a question mark over end product. Martyn Waghorn. 3.5. Made a difference when needed early on. Unlucky with injury Conor Washington. 3 Unlucky with injury - not really looked the part - presume he is on good money Tyrese Fornah. 5. Think he deserved more of a chance - however can only rate him 5 based on his contribution. Still think he can be an Ebou Adams Elliot Embleton. 1. Waste of money Ryan Nyambe. 7. Easy to forget how good he looked before he got injured. One that can certainly play in the Championship Tyreece John-Jules. 3. Huge risk that didn't pay off. Winter: Ebou Adams. 9. Dwight Gayle. 6. Ok got injured but if we hadn't signed him we might be looking at play offs Corey Blackett-Taylor. 5. I assume he has potential based on his stats and a couple of cameos. Was supposed to be the difference maker - we don't know why he got so little game time Max Bird*. 7. *I've included Max, as I feel it was crucial we had him to the end of the season. Extensions: Nathaniel Mendez-Laing. 8. Eiran Cashin. 9. Now we've gone up if we do sell it wont be for peanuts - or we have a good Championship kevel player Jake Rooney 7.
  8. I wouldn't be offering 4 year contracts full stop. Derby in L1 it would be hard not to be in or around the play offs so that wasn't such a risk but in thve championship it's not ridiculous to suggest we might be in a relegation fight next season and you really don't want changing manager to be unaffordable. The only way Warne gets poached is if he isn't happy at Derby and takes a sideways or downwards step - if he did feel that way then it would probably be best for him and us to part ways anyway.
  9. Enjoyed it well enough but I'd like us to be back in the Prem - unlike others it seems I do watch Premier League on TV and maybe it's an age thing but but when people say the Championship is back where we belong I always wince.
  10. Yes if I had to pick a back 3 for the Championship right now it'd be them - you could argue Bradley is the man in possession and has played as a CB more than Nyambe and those would be fair points but Nyambe looked very strong defensively and comfortable on the ball.
  11. I've got a feeling the defence either don't rate him or don't really gel with him. It's just at times I've seen Cash, Nelson, Wilson at least really tear into him for quite minor errors - I know it's pro football and doesn't have to be nicey nicey but at times I've just wondered what Wildsmith must think. I might be wrong and if i am fair enough but there's been a few occasions have made me wonder.
  12. Fact is up until a certain point this season - possibly Stevenage away but I've not checked - we were under performing and if we'd finished 6th or 7th I suspect Warne would have been on his way. Yes those that argued he would pull it round have been proved right but most pro Warne fans weren't saying we were still in the hunt for automatic they were making excuses about budget, sanctions, time etc etc. They have been proved wrong too.
  13. Think the defence is good enough as it is. I must be watching a different team to some of you as Sibley has been as good as Wilson on the other side and better than Elder - no way should we be spending the budget replacing him when without doubt he'd sign a new contract. Centre mid it's not rocket science we need Adams or similar and a replacement for Bird in his attacking role. We need at least one striker. Collins has had a better season but an option with more pace. Not ruling out keeping Gayle - if we look at league 1 this year two of the best returns have come from Rhodes and Chris Martin so veteran forwards can work but ideally someone a bit younger.
  14. Thought the club handled it well. Obviously there are mixed opinions about pitch invasions - personally I'm all for them - it's a chance for fans to really feel part of the club not just customers. It was good to see all the younger fans ready to run on. Everyone seemed to enjoy it - even the stewards - if people don't want to run on surely the spectacle beats a lap of honour?
  15. Job done, on to next season. I don't envisage the style of play changing much - managers tend to have a philosophy - but agree the style might suit not being favourites most games. In the main though it'll be about playing this style more effectively.
  16. Not sure that's his ideal. He's on record as saying he likes pace up top - but he likes pressing players too. I reckon his ideal would be a Jamie Vardy type - a threat in behind but with an engine too. I don't deny that a Collins type is more likely what he'll settle for though.
  17. Does it have to be to get up for the game? The main reason I go is to meet old mates I've known 40 years, have a drink with them and then we go to the game.
  18. I've parked at Chad Park before - the little car park - when I was pushed for time coming from that side - walked through the park, cross Nottm Rd and down that street to the bridge over the A52.
  19. Not really nervous, these days I enjoy the wins and forget about the defeats, no point in letting football spoil your weekend - though failure tomorrow might test that! When I was younger I'd have been more hyped up. Getting up early to take the dogs out for 90 minutes then getting picked up at 10 to go to the pub before the game.
  20. Yes the kids would probably love to run on the pitch. The players come over to the crowd every single game - the idea that somehow fans being on the pitch for 5 minutes would prevent them coming back out is just miserable b'stards who have nothing better to moan about. Time was fans went on the pitch last game of every season - it did no harm.
  21. It's a celebration - the players come over to the fans literally every game. Fans are treated as an inconvenience by football far too much these days. If you don't want to go on the pitch fine but it's sad if you can't enjoy other people celebrating.
  22. If we go up on the last game I'm on the pitch - I don't believe it's beyond the army of stewards they employ all year for no apparent reason to usher the players off safely - not that I think that would be needed.
  23. Yeah I am renewing but the lads I go with travel a fair distance and as a result often miss non Saturday games as they can't make it after work. After a season of this I could see them questioning whether it's worth renewing again - and if they didn't I doubt I'd want to go on my own. My son is similar in that he works shifts so if it's not a 3pm saturday ko he often misses out - if he's missing 50% of the games why buy a season ticket? Thinking about it i could just share a ticket with him and go when he can't. I don't want to pay match by match as prices are silly
  24. I think we'll score a couple and it's just down to whether we can defend. I'll go Camb 0-2 Derby Collins and Washington late on
