  1. Not sure that's his ideal. He's on record as saying he likes pace up top - but he likes pressing players too. I reckon his ideal would be a Jamie Vardy type - a threat in behind but with an engine too. I don't deny that a Collins type is more likely what he'll settle for though.
  2. Does it have to be to get up for the game? The main reason I go is to meet old mates I've known 40 years, have a drink with them and then we go to the game.
  3. I've parked at Chad Park before - the little car park - when I was pushed for time coming from that side - walked through the park, cross Nottm Rd and down that street to the bridge over the A52.
  4. Not really nervous, these days I enjoy the wins and forget about the defeats, no point in letting football spoil your weekend - though failure tomorrow might test that! When I was younger I'd have been more hyped up. Getting up early to take the dogs out for 90 minutes then getting picked up at 10 to go to the pub before the game.
  5. Yes the kids would probably love to run on the pitch. The players come over to the crowd every single game - the idea that somehow fans being on the pitch for 5 minutes would prevent them coming back out is just miserable b'stards who have nothing better to moan about. Time was fans went on the pitch last game of every season - it did no harm.
  6. It's a celebration - the players come over to the fans literally every game. Fans are treated as an inconvenience by football far too much these days. If you don't want to go on the pitch fine but it's sad if you can't enjoy other people celebrating.
  7. If we go up on the last game I'm on the pitch - I don't believe it's beyond the army of stewards they employ all year for no apparent reason to usher the players off safely - not that I think that would be needed.
  8. Yeah I am renewing but the lads I go with travel a fair distance and as a result often miss non Saturday games as they can't make it after work. After a season of this I could see them questioning whether it's worth renewing again - and if they didn't I doubt I'd want to go on my own. My son is similar in that he works shifts so if it's not a 3pm saturday ko he often misses out - if he's missing 50% of the games why buy a season ticket? Thinking about it i could just share a ticket with him and go when he can't. I don't want to pay match by match as prices are silly
  9. I think we'll score a couple and it's just down to whether we can defend. I'll go Camb 0-2 Derby Collins and Washington late on
  10. I don't think he's been slagged off that much but he's been a disappointment given he came from the Championship. In a back 3 he'd be 5th choice if Fozzy and Nyambe were fit - even on Saturday he didn't look as assured as Nelson and Cashin but he scored two goals and if he did that every week he'd get a free pass for his defensive lapses.
  11. I'll wait and see - not sure how highly Warne rates him - that question will be answered in the Summer.
  12. I'd like Pompey to go up, Bolton not so much, there just seems an undertone around their club that they deserve it more than the other contenders. This may come from tne manager - one of those who in his own mind never deserves to lose a game and isn't shy in telling everyone.
  13. I hope he proves himself because chances are he's here next season and he'll be on decent money. If we go up, no chickens being counted, if Warne sticks with a back 3 then Nelson, Cash, Nyambe, Bradley, Fozzy, Rooney would probably do for the championship - there's enough quality and cover there with a few capable of playing full back in a 4.

  15. I agree - but I did have a glance at their forum and most of their fans were of the opinion he's doing well for us because that's his level. I hope that's the general feeling around that club as it can't harm our chances of signing him. Think he only has a year left on his contract too so they'll have to decide whether to listen to offers, let his contract run down or extend based on what he's done at another club at a lower level.
