ariotofmyown
Ex-automatic promotion rivals Barnsley are having a dire time of late. They followed up their big win vs us with a win vs Wycombe. They've then won only 2 of their last 10. If they lose to Blackpool today and Lincoln beat Cheltenham, the table going into final day will be 5th Barnsley 75 6th Lincoln 74 7th Oxford 74 8th Blackpool 73 Lincoln's GD is not really catchable, Oxford's is 2nd, Barnsley and Blackpool's will be about the same, approx 3 behind Oxford. If we did end up in 3rd, could be playing someone we didn't expect.

Well they have been going through the gears. They recently dropped into 1st gear, now in reverse. Crewton
JfR
So what are we hoping for in Peterborough's next game against Cheltenham? Points dropped so they're out of the running for 2nd, or a win so that they'll still be playing for something against Bolton on Saturday, but with the (relatively small) risk that they could take 2nd? Kernow
I don't get why Peterborough aren't just going to try and win by as many as possible in midweek, then see what they have to do? If they're 5 or 6 goals behind, then they should be going for it. If any team knows that a 4-goal advantage isn't a given, then it's them.
Gerry Daly
This is good news. They are effectively forfeiting the midweek game taking them out of the equation as far as we are concerned but will then play a full strength, rested side against Bolton on Saturday

Surely we want a good Posh win on Tuesday (maybe by 4 goals) so they make a bit of an effort against Bolton.
Gerry Daly
Its neither good news or bad news anyway. Its irrelevant news. We will win Saturday maxjam, scout's dad and Premier ram 1 1
therealhantsram
I think the midweek game doesn't matter. Posh and Bolton will be planning for a meet at Wembley in a few week's time. Neither will want gift the other the psychological advantage of crushing win. As a result, they'll both still be going for it on the final day. They will want the mental advantage for Wembley. I wouldn't be surprised if their fear on injury and desire to rest key players ahead of the play offs 6 days later might override their drive to secure a psychological advantage, especially if one team (Posh) have zero chance of doing any better than making the play offs. littleover ram
Apparently Barnsley have sacked their manager with one game to go, pretty bold
