Joe Ward scored 6 and assisted 10 goals in a Peterborough side that got into the play offs last season.

Curtis Nelson has played 27, 30, 44 and 33 games in the championship in the last 4 seasons and has been captain at pretty much all his former clubs.

Callum Elder played 29 times for a side that finished mid table in the championship last season.

Give them chance to show what they can do with a ram on their chest before completely writing them off.

To be fair Elder could be reasonable signing.  Hope the do OK but we'll need some quality to go with grafters if we're after top 2.

I like the business we are doing.

Whilst some of our fans have been losing their minds, our management team have been working hard and getting what look to be solid signings in key areas in defence that needed addressing.

Hopefully they are in the process of pulling the same trick with midfield and attack which also need addressing.

Obviously there’s no certainties with new signings, but things look good on paper.

Hourihane - flattered to deceive.

Chester - never played.

Collins- pretty poor signing.

Names and reputation aren't everything.

all true

but mcgoldrick carried us, like with any signing it can go either way! i dont think reputation matters that much

this signing doesnt really improve our age profile though which is my major worry, but at 30 will have a few years left in the tank yet

It's almost like the crazy fecker is trying to build a team.

Was Hoping for Bradley too be honest.   I assume he has a championship offer.  The players we're bringing in are not the calibre we brought in last season under tighter restrictions.

No, but maybe they will be more effective at this level.  Barkhuizen appeared a good signing on paper but wasn't particularly effective.  NML ran out of steam, Chester barely played.  Didzy obviously smashed it and Hourihane, for me at least, did well too.  A mixed bag really.

Nelson is another captain.  Warne seems to be going for a certain type (leaders) which given the number of points we threw away last season can only be a good thing.

Will be interesting to see if the likes of nml and barks benefit now we have some actual wingbacks the aforementioned can concentrate on playing higher up the pitch where they do theyre best work… ditto sibley

Very pleased with this signing. Looks to be a solid and accomplished player with vast experience, in a position that’s in dire need of reinforcement. Will without doubt be an upgrade on Davies and Stearman who were both finished last season, and also should be much more reliable than Chester. Welcome to Derby Curtis!

Still need a couple more at CB though imo, if we’re playing 3 at the back. We’re very short there.

Sounds like an old school defender from what Blackpool fans say, make the tackle, clear the ball, by no means a passer and not particularly strong in the air but a good leader. They seem to have one fan on their forums who absolutely hates him but you'll pretty much always get that.

Just had further liaison with my Blackpool season ticket mate who had originally responded to my enquiry with ‘donkey’. He was winding me up. He says he is a very steady, solid defender which is good to hear as he would have seen him more than any of us 😁
