Rammy03
There is absolutely no chance Brighton would go for an unproven manager like Liam Rosenior if that's what you're suggesting Crewton and RoyMac5

Van der MoodHoover
So Chelsea are seriously thinking of hiring someone who has 1 Swedish 4th division title and a couple of seasons stabilising a mid table club? And ask him to get a tune pretty rapidly out of 260m plus worth of signings he had no part of? As well as Frankies residue. What could possibly go wrong? ? Rev
My lads a football hipster, and so are his mates. The way they talk about Potter, you'd think he invented the wheel, football wise. Looks like a Cornish fisherman to me. Rammy03, uttoxram75, Premier ram and 2 others 1
RadioactiveWaste
He is a good manager, no doubt about it. But, being a good manager above a sea of mediocer ones in the prem and championship? I doubt Chelsea are serious and I doubt it'd be the move that makes him, i think he'd be out in 12-15 months (i.e. wouldn't make it to next christmas). Most of the world’s best managers hadn’t actually done much before they landed a top job. Klopp went from Mainz to Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel was the same. They both did at Mainz what Potter has done at Brighton. Obviously Pep, Conte and Simeone all had amazing playing careers to illustrate they had something about them. It’s unlikely Potter will ever win anything at Brighton. Klopp, Tuchel and Nagelsmann never won trophies either before landing a job at a leading club. I guess sometimes it’s just obvious they are destined for a top club. it seems that way with Potter. Rammy03, Carl Sagan and GenBr

To be fair his record in Sweden is a little better than that. He took a 4th tier side all the way to the 1st tier, won the Swedish Cup and qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League, a run that included beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. Brighton are a 4th division side who've randomly ended up in the premier League. Before potter they were barely surviving relegation back to the championship. What are you expecting him to do? They don't spend much money and constantly sell their best players. Last season's top half finish was impressive. They play an attractive style of football as well which helps I guess. Why not give him a go? What more can he do before getting a better job? Chelsea is no doubt a big jump but he's earned it in my opinion. TimRam
He won't last one season if not top 2 + a cup a year from now. You can imagine what the responses from Brighton fans are at the moment.

Sure you know this, but his first managerial job was abroad and he's managed abroad far longer than he has over here. So, if anyone might be able to buck that trend, it could be him. The last one was Lampard and that is an exception because he got the job off the back of his legendary playing career at Chelsea not his managerial credentials. And even then, he didn't do that bad. He got top 4 in his first season without spending any money and then in his second season after the first bad run they went on he was sacked in typical Chelsea style.
