Name spelling really getting at my OCD. It’s Barkhuizen, without the added ‘e’, and Korey Smith is with a K and it’s not double-barrel.

Bird 6.5 - again pulled down by second half performance 

Hourihane  6.5 - showed class in first half and with that cross for Collins chance but also struggled second half

Mendez-Laing 7 - what a goal but was done 5 mins into second half clearly wasn’t going to run anymore 

Barkhuizen 7.5 - kept going, threat first half quality assist should’ve been subbed 15 mins earlier

It’s clear to see where our problem was - the massive drop off in midfield second half. Probably due to the heat. Need to check the bench again before being too critical but Rosenior has to use 5 subs in that heat!! Think that was a factor, Barkhuizen could barely run for the last 10 mins he was on!!

Amazing that people make NML the mom, good goal but he was knackered before half time which is where I would have taken him off. Not because he played badly just that he had nothing left to give. Cashin MoM best performance I have seen from a centre back in ages

Wildsmith 7 - couple of good saves, no chance for the goal. Still hitting those goal kicks too straight though

Knight 6.5 - another solid display & couple of surging runs into midfield. On back foot most of second half

Stearman 7 - some timely interventions & stood up to second half barrage

Cashin 9 MOM - seriously impressive display. Dominant defensively & usual class on the ball

Roberts 6 - struggled today I thought. Looked ill at ease with playing out from back & caught in possession too much

Sibley 7 - thought he did well, carried the ball with purpose & tracked their runners. Was surprised when he came off

Bird 6.5 - good first half but like Hourihane, struggled second half to keep us in possession

Hourihane 6 - good first half but was poor second half. Constantly gave the ball away with weak or aimless balls. Clearly exhausted & needed to come off

Mendez-Laing 7 - cracking goal & they struggled with him first half. Faded after break & wasnt getting quality into him

Barkhuizen 7 - excellent assist & looked our main threat first half, he broke on them a couple more times. Did butcher one of them, other one was an accidental handball

Collins 6.5 - missed one decent chance but worked hard again. A tame second half chip to their keeper looked like he was short of confidence

Smith 6 - liked his energy but got caught in possession couple of times when we sorely needed him to hold it

Dobbin & Forsyth 6 - both solid

Collins 5 - needs a goal, has to put that chance away at 2-0. Great run for NMLs goal though to take defenders away from him. Doesn’t win a lot in the air. Hopefully it will come good for him

Wildsmith 7 - couple of v good saves first half along with some shaky passing, couldn’t do anything for the goal.

Knight 7 - steady as ever, think the role suits him

Stearman 6.5 - not really troubled, perhaps slightly at fault for the goal if being harsh. Can’t say he fills me with confidence on the ball

Cashin 9.5 - doubt we’ll see a better individual CB performance this season. 

Roberts 7 - solid defensively and did well when put under pressure with loose passes first half especially. Starting to do more going forwards too.

Sibley 7 - couple of good moments but needs to make himself harder to sub off. Think he’ll have a lot of joy this season if trusted to.

Bird 6.5 - good first half, needed to do more to get back control of the game second half. Possibly still getting used to having a bit more defensive responsibility

Hourihane 7.5 - bit of a worry defensively but his left foot is just ridiculous. That cross for the Collins chance worth 1 point alone

Mendez Laing 7 - quiet but good goal

Barkhuizen 7 - always a good outlet and building a nice partnership with Hourihane on the left, good assist

Collins 6.5 - decent all round game again and getting enough chances that when he scores one he’ll score loads

Smith 6 - not sure the role he is playing really suits him but that is not his fault. Tidy footballer but think he should be competing with Bird’s and maybe Knight’s roles rather than Sibley’s.

Dobbin 6.5 - good energy

Forsyth 6 - no time to do much

I think that was usually Wildsmith's fault - twice in the first half he put Roberts in trouble with at least two players closing down and no safe "out" ball.

Wildsmith 6.5 Some decent keeping. Played several very dangerous balls and needs to claim more in the box to take the pressure off the defence.

Knight 6.5 Not his fault - out of position.

Stearman 7 Solid deputy when two central defenders are injured. Some great blocks.

Cashin 8.5 Continues to bolster his reputation with a MotM performance. Proper defender. 

Roberts 6.5 Tidy for the most part, but sometimes plays us into trouble

Sibley 7 The grease that makes the team tick properly. Always available, always looking forward, prepared to shoot, strong and creative, uses possession well. Found great pockets of space to link midfield and attack. A quiet 5 minutes and was hauled off after 55 mins. At which point we tried to see the game out bereft of a midfield outlet.

Bird 7.5 Showed we only need one defensive midfielder.

Hourihane 7 Faded but contributed more in this game.

Mendez-Laing 7 Took his goal excellently. Always a threat but needs better decision-making, especially when Sibley is so often a good option he doesn't use.

Barkhuizen 6.5 Great assist for the second goal, but not involved enough.

Collins 6 Leads the line well but missed yet another great chance. How badly does he need a goal. Really like him.

Smith 5 OMG to be under pressure in your own penalty area, go down and grab the football without the referee blowing is utterly crazy and could very easily have lost us the match. His introduction saw us lose our way.

Dobbin 5.5 Needs to do more, but tough because we had retreated to the edge of our area to see the game out.

Forsyth Not on for long enough to rate.
