We did offer Martin a contract, it just wasn't very much? Oh and for all the posters saying don't revisit, well in Martin's case, unlike Waghorn, he's still scoring and assisting goals. Ah yes, the same Rooney who said he quit DCFC to spend more time with his family, but within weeks had moved 3,500 miles away from them. Maybe don't take everything he said at face value? He's more than willing to play mind-games. It was reported somewhere (can't find it now) that he regretted how he handled that situation anyway. He's basically said "It would be irresponsible of me to tease you about transfers" - ie his teaser shouldn't be taken as being about transfers since he wouldn't do that. Also the "I'm excited and I hope you will be too" = it's personal news, hope you'll be pleased for me.
