How many points to stay up

We just have to keep carrying on trying to pick up points where we can - our threadbare squad and dubious refereeing decisions are our biggest threat as well as other teams deciding to improve - it’s always worth remembering that one side seems to fall like a stone in this league and Hull look more than capable of doing that.

How do we score the goals we need - Davies with 4 Forsyth with 2 have proved to be very important goal-scorers this season and if we can find a few more from some others it will help a lot - maybe Bird and Jozwiak/Stearman with a few will help a lot

Ebosele is going to play regular in the position he played against Hull. So I expect him to chip in a few goals from now on, which will have teams trying to double up on him because of his pace and that hopefully will give more space to others.

It’s looking like a straight fight between us and Reading. But there are two things we have to be careful of - some promoted teams like Wycombe get the hang of things near the end of the season (ended up with 43 pts). And with Reading there could be a new manager “bounce” near the end of the season. We must aim for 48points.

I think we'll just fall short due to the squad size, injuries and bans due to blatantly biased referees. Honestly, I can't see our players keeping up this level of effort, physically they must be drained plus every player has to be at a level of 7/10 every game. Its incredible we are in with a chance of finishing out of the bottom three.

If we do it, it'll be huge.

No one will remember who got promoted in 2022.

The world will remember that Derby County stayed up.

Im tracking against last season as that gave us 44 and safety.

after 29 games (using 29 as that's how many all of the bottom 4 have played) this season is now tracking a spectacular 9 points off that 44 target so currently 35.

Yes, but we were woeful those last 15 games. How many games did we win those games? Our form isn't bottom 3.

Blackburn went down under Mowbray with 51 points . The bottom teams always seem have their best run in the last 10 games when it gets really urgent.

Last season was a bit more wading through treacle..but even to get to last seasons tally of 44 Reading need to double their points.

Based on season-to-date form of Reading and Derby, they're both currently heading for 36 points.

If form picks up in the last ten games - if that's a thing - then it'll be higher.

If we keep doing what we've been doing - which seems to be improving firm over time - then we should get more than 36.

Not really true. The ppg doesn’t really change much between now and the end of the season.
2018/19 season is the closest to the average points from the last ten seasons. The ppg for 21st place in that season increased by 0.02 from game 30 to the end of the season. You’ll find it does increase between now and the end of the season, but it regresses back down

This time last season we had 37 points. You would have thought we were safe then. That's why I wouldn't necessarily rule out another team joining the party down at the bottom.

Can’t see any other team being dragged down in to the trap door challenge ?
