England Ram Posted February 9, 2022 Share Posted February 9, 2022 Allsop 7 - Some good saves, Byrne 7 - Some good play going forward but defensively caught out a few times. Forsyth 7 - Would be an 8 for the goal and the outlet he provided, but a few mistakes that put us in difficulty when he tired. Buchanan 8 - Such a surprise in that position (I know he's played it before) was immense throughout and his best game for ages. Davies 8 - Solid an dependable as always. Some towering clearances and such a calm head. Bird 7 - Played well generally. Looked much more at ease with Bielik next to him. Got knocked off the ball a few times though. Bielik 8 - What a player. Magestic turn and stride part way through the first half which showed us what we've missed. Drew defenders towards him for both goals as he found the open man. Looked forward and moved us up the pitch at a pace that teams will find hard to match. Knight 8 - Would have been motm if it wasn't for Ebosele. He was everywhere, and I feel now he knows he has Bielik behind him he will be able to harry that front line and be more forward thinking and effective. Ebosele 9 - His best ever game for Derby so naturally a 9. Was unplayable and got that final ball off, and a goal and free kicks. Would have been a 10 if not for his mistake leading to the goal. Needs to better position himself for challenges in defense. Lawrence 8 - Played well. Led the line behind Plange well and was tracking back all game as well as making us move forward. Good game. Plange 7.5 - Led the line well and was a nucance all game and althoug hhe didn't get his goal he put in a real forwards performance. Sibley 7 - Played well, one defensive error leading to a chance but forward play was neat, tidy and actually could have led to a goal. Needs more minutes. To be fair he scored an own goal and could quite easily have cost us 2 more (when he left their man unchallenged at the back post and when the ball went under his foot near the end). Still scares the crap out of me when he's fannying around 20 yards from goal though. Byrne - 8 - Up & down all night long and was rock solid Buccannan - 7 - Looked like he'd played centre back all his life Davis - 7 - Rarely troubled Forsyth - 8 - Had his 1 in 4 game. When he's on it he looks a class above Bielik - 8 - Baller Bird - 7 - Took care of the ball and looked a threat going forward Lawrence - 9 - Finally getting some much deserved credit for the amount of work he does off the ball. Proper captain's performance Knight - 8 - Never stopped running & closing down. Was much better on the ball as well compared to the Brum game Plange - 7 - Was up against 3 massive centre halves but more than held his own. And that double nutmeg!!! Ebosele - 10 - MOM. Their left back will be having nightmares for weeks. Him & Byrne are starting to be a real double act.
