So what happened.....

Who had lied to us? Because Efl/Q did checks and were convinced the money had been sent, Nixon also say proof

So why pull out?

I don’t think he pulled out. We were all in a restaurant, he said he’d pay and it would be his pleasure. Then he says he’s lost  his wallet and did a runner. Now we’re all doing the washing up

Either:

- slyncio investors got spooked by the AML problems, called him back to the US and told him to stop endangering their investment or

- he was fronting part of the deal for others and realised he could not clear AML without spilling the beans and showing he’d misled the EFl re ownership

or another reason.

If armageddon  were to happen and we were to drop five divisions or whatever and not be able to pay rent at PPS then I think it would just be kept in limbo until we could return. Did Rangers demolish Ibrox? I don't think so. The cost of rebuilding PPS would be over £100m.

We all want to see the back of Morris but the idea that he can be squeezed into accepting less than £20m for the stadium seems to be pure fanstasy.  He may well have Personal guarantees, but I guess they would only kick in if MSD could not realise their money from the existing charge on the stadium and on DCFC assets. That seems unlikely to me as secured creditor they call the shots.

Again not sure what any of this really has to do with what i said, but yes i agree that Mel wont accept less than his £20 mill because he needs to pay MSD.

If we are liquidated and start again lower in the pyramid we won't be playing in pride park for a decade. Unless somebody else pays Morris off in this scenario we might end up never being able to play there again unless we have a wealthy owner again. We certainly wouldnt be rebuilding pride park ?

Whilst time is important the Efl fixture list should absolutely not be the determining factor. We need to be able to renew player contracts so the deal needs to be closed very quickly. But closing a deal in two weeks just because the Efl are worried about their fixture computer is ridiculous . We need a proper owner who will pay enough for creditors and not an asset stripper .

the Efl deadline can be dealt with by some form of guarantee by local benefactors. Clowes has already got a deal for the stadium soo that can be part of the business plan so that we are financed for the season or until the new owner takes over.

Beggars can't be choosers.  The Fixture List is published next week (Thursday, June 23rd). If we don't get a deal done inside the next week, then I can't see the EFL letting us go on a month-to-month basis of proving funds - they will kick us out beforehand and replace us. The other L1 clubs also want certainty (and avoid the possibility of losing a prime fixture / 5% of their income / refunding ST holders a game / suing or throwing handbags at EFL).

Step forward ... Mike Ashley.  He specialises in doing quick last-minute deals (Look at Missguided earlier this month - went into Administration, but MA bought it within 48 hours). It's ready-made for him now.

I just think to get to this point he must have gone to some great expense with solicitors etc. I think he’s the quickest option but I don’t really think he’s the best. I think MA has far more experience in this sort of thing and given the choice I would have him over CK.

if he pays them…! he’s not got a great record for paying, obviously.

Who said anything about a month by month basis? A guarantee of funding for the season is all that is needed from a local benefactor Which might cost nothing, because players are leaving so we will have a player wage bill of less than £5 m .

What nonsense. Ask the manager who he wants to buy the Club? ?

Yep , it’s bizarre, the clubs very existence is on the line and people see Rooney staying as being vital , now I have great respect for how he has been through all this but ANY manager or player is short term , they all move on or are moved on , that’s the nature of football,

we must survive first and foremost

Agree - after weeks and weeks of us waiting for "The Kirch" to seal the deal, I genuinely think we'll have a new owner in place by the weekend.  One thing CK's team did do is get all the ducks in a row.  Whilst appreciating there seem to be other buyers in the wings, the likes of MA, love him or hate him, specialise in this situation and have the means to come in and sort things incredibly quickly.  With so much pressure on the EFL now to get this sorted for next week's fixture release, he'll be giving them and Q assurances he WILL complete, dare I say in 48 hrs.  I suspect too he will already have everything sorted and shared in terms of business plan etc.  I've changed my mind too about him possibly being happy to start on -15. I think he'll want us as competitive as possible in order to recoup funds as early as possible and so do a deal to start on 0.  This is going to be one tense week.

I don’t agree . Even if we drop five divisions I think we will return to PPS at the latest on re entry to the League.

the stadium will not be demolished as it is too valuable . I don’t think the pitch or seating could find much of a re-use but the rest of the place can be. Function rooms , bars, restaurants, shops , offices . Maybe executive boxes too, you could get millions in rental and events .

Just wish Michael Dell would waltz in and snap us up.

I daresay you haven't had much practice,' said the Queen. 'When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast...”

I really am finding it hard to maintain a positive approach towards this. It is like we’re walking blindfolded towards the edge of the cliff only no one has told us how far away the cliff is. The incompetence by all parties involved in this is beyond belief. I really can’t see how we can assemble a competitive squad with everything up in the air. If Rooney walks, which I think is highly likely, we will be even further behind than where we are now. It is already like we are starting for 100m sprint a lap down.
