Not sure about this result...that leaves us 5 points behind Reading which could be a problem...we were 4 points behind which with our superior goal difference is a win and a draw...5 points however is 2 wins.Or am I over thinking this?

I don't think you're thinking straight. 0:0 was clearly the best result.

If you guys manage to string together even a reasonable run of form, you'll be fine

We are TERRIBLE

You can only get better and you probably will. Can you afford to sack your manager. Has Colin been seen in the Berks area lately? ?

But if Peterborough win its 5 as well with a game in hand and there going balls out to stretch that to 8 on Saturday knowing they have a cushion if they lose.  We still need to aim for 42 points and that's not changed.  Tonight was a great result- if we take advantage.  Lot of pressure on Saturday.  A young team feeling a bit more expectation than normal.

Yeah, money's not an issue (we actually signed someone this week). One of our ITK's on Twitter is claiming that Paunovic offered his resignation weeks ago, but it was denied and the CEO and Kia Joorabchian are keeping him there as a punching bag. The CEO doesn't want to talk to our owner because he fears the sack himself.

This has all been coming since the playoff final in 2017

Blimey; losing playoff finals is our forte too. Look where it lands you

My thinking is that we will need a point a game, plus any deficit we need to make up.

It’s not a perfect equation but bear in mind that neither Reading, even without their points deduction, or Peterborough are currently averaging a point or more per game, so that’s a good target to set ourselves.

Of course, they could suddenly hit form but there is little evidence of that being likely.

In fact, instead of 40 or more, it could end up being closer to 35-36 points needed to stay up given the way the form of both teams is trending downwards.

Looking at the two sides tonight, it’s hard not to be encouraged.

You seem to have lost it a bit since you had COVID. Ince is ok but I’m not sure he’s up for a scrap if his heads down I doubt you’ll see him.

Key parts to the run in for Reading is if/when they sack their manager & who they bring in to replace him. Squad isnt too bad, abit like us last season where the squad is alright but confidence has gone.

For us its how soon can we name a PB & potentially bring in some free agents to strengthen our squad.

Both teams are a few key injuries away from disaster imo. If Reading lose Joao, Swift & even Ince they could be in trouble. For us if we lost Davies Lawrence Plange we could be struggling big time due to lack of cover.

Interesting fact- according to the bookies, after tonight's result, Derby, Reading AND Peterborough all have the same odds for relegation! First time that's happened this season.

Odds on 538.COM (analytical site, for those that aren't aware) has Peterborough favourites to go down now after tonight (85%) followed by Barnsley (82%), us (72%) and Reading (62%)

Reading’s run of games was a cause for concern. Bristol City, Coventry, Posh, Preston, Brum, Blackpool and Millwall. But so far they’ve managed just one point from the first three.

A win on Saturday and another blank for Reading will really set the alarm bells off for them.

They had lost 7 on the trot so assume the batteries on those alarm bells would have needed replacing..

Peterboro's foul count tohight is worry - looks as though we might be getting kicked to death on Saturday.

We need to make a bit more of naughty tackles than we do.  Lying there for a few seconds and holding a leg gets us nowhere clearly.  Loud screams and fist banging with a side to side roll is needed, preferably 3 others pushing over the offending player as someone else screams in the refs face, based on what I saw the opposition get away with at the weekend.
