I'd say we need someone with experience of the position that we're in (and experience of getting teams out of the position that we're in!). For that reason I'd go with one of these:

  • Sam Allardyce - Never been relegated... 'nuff said (and if the plan is to give Rooney a more prominent role, I'd feel more comfortable with SA alongside him as an experienced head).
  • Paul Cook - If we're going for a whole new coaching team. Turned Wigan around last season into one of the best performing teams in the league.

Howe

Cook

Big sam

Jokanavic

Jardim

Gerrard

 

Would be worried about any of the following

Terry

Rooney

Johnson

 

To be honest I think cook would be the logical appointment so imagine Rooney will now get it.....
