Mckram
I’d do anything for it to not be Rooney/Terry etc but I have a bad feeling it will be something like that. A nice proven Championship manager for me that plays football.
RAMS1992
Should this not be called who will be appointed alongside Rooney? No way the club aren’t giving it Rooney

FKANorwichExile
Big Sam with Rooney as Assistant. We can't afford to gamble here, an experienced head at the table please.

Steve Buckley’s Dog
Paul Cook for me. A proper football manager rather than a vanity project. Rooney would be a terrible appointment and if it was him there would have to be questions asked about whether he was undermining the manager. I agree with a previous poster-this is a decision that we cannot get wrong.
Black ('n' White) Sheep
I'd say we need someone with experience of the position that we're in (and experience of getting teams out of the position that we're in!). For that reason I'd go with one of these: Sam Allardyce - Never been relegated... 'nuff said (and if the plan is to give Rooney a more prominent role, I'd feel more comfortable with SA alongside him as an experienced head). Paul Cook - If we're going for a whole new coaching team. Turned Wigan around last season into one of the best performing teams in the league.

ariotofmyown
We should just do a Chelsea/Utd and get someone like Gabbiadini back. He manages his B&B in York well be all accounts.
KBB
Would be happy with any of the following, in no particular order Howe Cook Big sam Jokanavic Jardim Gerrard Would be worried about any of the following Terry Rooney Johnson To be honest I think cook would be the logical appointment so imagine Rooney will now get it..... Tombo
Just going to pre-empt this Rooney out. Seriously. Don't do this to our club. Rooney out.
ariotofmyown
Maybe get Rooney in as manager as he is the only person who might drop him.
Ghost of Clough
Wassall or Walker as caretaker manager. Carsley when we want a permanent manager. One of the more impressive up and coming managers based on his shirt stints at Coventry (2nd time), Brentford, Birmingham and currently England U20. Built a good network, likely to play the youths, plays good football, etc...

Steve Buckley’s Dog
Of course the beauty of Paul Cook, as I am sure someone else will have pointed out, is that we won’t need to make any new initialled manager’s training kit and quilted Derby County coat for the long winter ahead. Might save us some money. Times are hard.
Jimbo Ram
Cook ticks all of the boxes for me unless the new owners make a money no option appointment and bring a really big name in....
