Yes they were our rivals for a period in the 70s, but the was because we were challenging for the title. angieram Posted July 18, 2020 Share Posted July 18, 2020 I would be glad to see the back of both Leeds and Forest next season if it enabled us to concentrate on ourselves for a change. Four extra matches each season where it's just about winning a game of football. Having been around in the 70s I understand the needle with Leeds, but that should be all it is. This season Leeds have played the better football and deserve to go up. If they've proved it is possible after years of languishing down here then surely it gives us hope. If by 'glamour' you mean mardyness (look at how infantile Bamford has become for example, he was never like that with us), cynical fouls, attempted sabotage of opponents and a general ruthless, humourless, machine like approach then maybe he's right. He then had a right go at Norwich big style, whose crimes, according to Savage, were (a) not spending stupid money that they didn't have, (b) giving young players (e.g. Cantwell) a chance and (c) trying to play attractive football even at the cost of results. Which raises, for us, an interesting existential question guys. If we had to choose, who would we rather be - Leeds or Norwich?
