They get no service.

Except from Martin mostly?! So...it's Martin to Martin, who shoots and scores! ?

Oh for a proper wide player or two. #COYR

He has hardly lost his desire for goals...have you seen his face when he’s in a prime position for a pass and they don’t bother?

plus he’s on 12 despite that and also despite the fact he didn’t play the first quarter of the season..

I can only assume Sibley has overtaken him:

Martin - 123.12 minutes per goal contribution
Sibley - 105.57 minutes per goal contribution.

Martin's record is still massively understated over the period of time he's played, especially as he came off an illness that's plagued him for a couple of years.

? Who was a few yards behind Waghorn after running the whole of Birminghams half on the break? Who was waiting for Knighty to pass across the box to him. Who is in shot on the edge of the box at the end of the match, again there for a pass when Whittaker shoots? Ditto the Sibley shot!

Yeah but in truth, in each of the examples you mention, he was actually deciding whether to drop back following the previous move which had broken down again but thought 'no, I'll hang about here for a few seconds and see what happens'.

Seriously, if money isn't the main issue then give him a one-year contract, with a further 12 months extention at the clubs' discretion, based on agreed targets.

Quote

Following talks between Derby County and representatives of Chris Martin, an agreement regarding a new contract has not been found at this time, therefore his contract will expire today (July 31)...

“We wish to thank Chris for his seven-year service to the football club and we will endeavour to remain in dialogue with him and his representatives and will always leave the door open for a potential return if he does not find a suitable club.”

Translation being, sadly Martin’s demands did not fall in line with our wage bill reduction vision going forward.

We thank Martin for his service and wish him luck finding a club that will meet his demands.

However, if he struggles to find a club our offer remains on the table.

The problem with that is, how long does Cocu monitor the situation when it’s clear we will need to bring in a replacement?

Cocu doesn’t wait to find out. It’s too important a role and only Waggy to play it. So he goes out to find a replacement.
