Other things?  I don't know what. And if you can't treat the lads to a drink when there  is a good gap until the next game when can you?

I see where you're coming from, but why should we treat the lads to a drink as a reward for performance?

What makes alcohol such a reward? You wouldn't place a mound of Cocaine on the back of the team bus and invite the lads to tuck in after a good win, yet it would probably be healthier than a session on the booze.

I don't find pictures of massive bar bills from a pub, videos of our Captain massively pissed singing Karaoke, or videos of players drunkenly arguing with fans outside a city centre Casino after a charity gala at all amusing, even less so when I'm told that the reason the players lost an important away game at Boro was because they were so pissed after their Christmas party, despite flying up there on chartered jets as a treat from the owner.

All of the above actions I would eagerly indulge in myself of course, but I'm not an elite athlete trying to be the best version of myself, after having beaten off 99.5% of the opposition vying for my job.

Exactly, you’ve surely gotta be doing at least 70 to deal that level of damage you’d think

I don't know but those cars are pretty hefty things. It wasn't a ford ka.

I dont give unsubstantiated rumours any quarter

Alcohol is, right or wrong,  a reward for a lot of people.  How many look forward to the Christmas party with the promise of an open bar?

The video outside the casino looked more to me if a couple if **** *** fans causing trouble than drunken players.

I absolutely can't stand drink driving, in any way.

As per usual though, this forum is full of hypocrisy. Presumably all of you calling for them both to be sacked are also 100% against the Rooney signing, and will have clearly said so when he was signed?

Didn't think so.

He is not the forum scapegoat though......yet

Not sure Cocu strikes me as the type of manager who would allow such things? Is he trying to instill a new air of professionalism?

Bennett and Lawrence have show zero respect to the club, the fans and much more, the timing would never be good but even worse give the run we are in. Stupidity.

As a side point on the whole ffp thing, I personally think that the league should make some special case out of this, and not let terminating the players contracts have any ffp hit. Not exactly the clubs fault that some of our players decided to act like complete Idiots. Can make an example out of the players then as a warning to any other muppets who think that they can act like this, forcing us to keep a hold of the players so we don’t get an embargo would just have the opposite effect- make it seem like it can go unpunished (within the sport anyway, not legally)

named on RD

From memory I think that the maximum speed limit on the A6 at the junction of Burley Hill is either the national unrestricted limit (60mph) or signed as the reduced 50mph. The limit becomes 40mph a little way down the A6 as it becomes Duffield. Following a recent change the limit is now reduced from 40mph to a max of 30mph on the road from the traffic lights in Duffield through the short village section in the direction of Wirksworth before it becomes 40mph then 50mph. It's called Queensway or something similar I believe.

One from my occasional public service driving broadcasts. bye

I've re-read my post and it does not appear or actually say it is fine to drink drive, basically or otherwise. If you choose to interpret it as doing so then look to yourself

As we have never met I'm surprised you know anything at all about my friends and family and what may, or may not, have happened to them.

I must admit when I quoted you earlier in the thread the impression I got from you was a kind of let those who is without sin cast the first stone situation thus you were defending their actions, maybe I got it wrong but I still think a twenty something footballer these days has had tons more guidance on the dangers of drink/drug driving that a twenty something ordinary lad had in my day.

Look at the state of their cars, I’m absolutely disgusted by the pair. In any other profession they’d be sacked. What makes it worse is that they’re are both awful football players. Get rid now. ?

Agree no respect for the club, manger or fans.Sadly Lawrence as a sell value and we should look to move him on in January as for Bennett he is worth sweet FA and wouldnt get in a second division team regular i think hes one of our own,Really

Can you imagine what the play off v Leeds victory conga would have looked like if they did?

I bet they would have done it all the way down the M1.

Just reading this poo storm now after not having chance to check the news much today.  Its one thing after another with this club at the  moment, we are always in the news whether for good or for bad  this added to controversy around Rooney and numerous other controversies with FFP and a load of other stuff I can't remember is getting out of hand. Really stupid of both of them , I think they should both be punished ,maybe 2 weeks loss of wages ,community service , not play for a few games and a driving ban, but I wouldn't go as far as sacking them.  They are not my favourite players, and they have behaved like absolute tools here, but I think sacking them could screw the club over abit with FFP and the fact we don't have many wingers. If it  was Keogh and Marriott it would be interesting if people would still want to see them sacked.
