Like it or not he is currently one of our best players. In matches where chances are at a premium and we aren't creating much he is one of the only players we have that can conjure something out of nothing.
Is he as consistent as we would like? No. But if he was consistently as good as he can be there is a 0% chance he'd be playing for Derby.
In terms of the Joiners Arms incident, he was grieving for his mother. That's doesn't excuse his behaviour, but I certainly understand it having been to a similar place myself.
I hope this is the making of him, he's been a good player for us despite what some folk on here say. Just because he isn't raking in 30 yarders every week doesn't mean he's rubbish.
    Good luck, captain.

Its an interesting one but I do think players like Davies, Shinnie & CKR dont need an armband to be leaders.
This could be a really good thing for Lawrence. I felt when he returned from injury he looked to take on the responsibility of being our main attacking threat & stepped up to the plate at a crucial time of the season. Maybe he is a players who thrives off responsibility. He doesnt need to be someone who screams & shouts but he can lead by example on the pitch & he certainly has the quality to do it.
People say alot about his attitude on the pitch but I think thats just how he comes across, he doesnt get enough credit for his workrate and the defensive side to his game. He also clearly has the respect of the other lads.

I don't agree Mel is blameless at all and in fact think he's been a bloody nightmare especially over the last couple of seasons and didn't IMO need to go on talksport and in a way stoke up the EFL  but do agree we as fans need to get onside with this and stand together because we are in a mess....when Mel and co have gone WE WILL STILL BE HERE supporting this club home and away
Players,Managers,Chairman,Owners etc come and go but we as fans are forever.............................
I do like the idea of us fans raising the 100k and presenting it to the EFL on DCFC's behalf...it would be great publicity and send a message to all the bamfords in the EFL including arses like Gibson that we are Derby and we are not going away
We have been good members of the EFL over the years with good attendances and a good record and we need to stand together and be heard.
I don't know if David could possibly organise a fund raising appeal but someone said 4000 at 25 quid which I think sounds reasonable but I will be happy to put a 100 quid in ....i've saved well over that not being able to travel to games

the way i feel about it all at the moment is , whoever you are be it owner, management , player or cleaner if you want to leave Derby County then go now and shut the door behind you , we need a massive rebuild from top to bottom , its not going to be pretty for awhile but small steps can get us back on the road to recovery and give us a club we can be proud of again

He did it because he already had a lot of abuse and a lot of crap from grown adults who professed to be Derby fans on social media. Quite frankly - putting his fingers in his ears is a very mild reaction from him and I admire his restraint. He isn't made of stone - just because the club gave him an opportunity doesn't mean he is obligated to just ignore the idiots in our fanbase.

Surely one of the biggest recipients of this award goes to Billy Davies,  gets us promoted and then says I wish it was Preston..what a total tool.

Might be in the very small minority, but l have very little interest in players when they move on, and certainly the notion that ‘once a Ram, always a Ram’ has little traction with me.
In the last 10 years there are only a few players that I retain any interest in. Probably only Hughes and Bryson.

Makes me chuckle the comments on here saying the recruitment team aren't to blame due to the massive number of managerial changes they've had to deal with and different managers trying different systems. Then I see that extensive list of players we've signed at huge cost where we have got exactly zero pounds back against the original outlay. Go figure that one out.

Full transparency. I was invited to this meeting, but chose not to put my name or the forums to this.
Reason being as I have previously stated, this forum is a platform for fans views, I am not an elected chairman/spokesman to speak on behalf of you all, simply the creator of this platform for fans views which can already be openly seen by the club.
I did not feel comfortable signing on behalf of the forum without consulting you all, and felt my name without attaching dcfcfans.uk held no weight.
My own personal views are that this letter has been created out of concern for the clubs future and regardless of how you feel towards any of the groups that have signed off on it, do not see this as an opportunity to attack supporters groups for speaking on behalf of Derby County fans.
We all love this club. ?

Been quite critical of MM recently which is a bit of a change of tune. Was singing Mel's praises not so long ago but seems to have joined in the pile on since. Grates a tad since as I recall, his tenure at Palace ended up with them in administration. Those who live in glass houses...

Quite a frank and open interview here with Jordon Ibe, mental health discussions start around the 20 minute mark.
Hope he's getting the support he needs and that he can continue to work his way towards the team for next season.

Wow, very brave to go on and say that, I think he came to Derby because of the supporters and how we were with him. HIs health is the most important thing, but I hope to see him on the pitch soon and for him to realise he is part of the Derby family, we don't just say once a Ram always a Ram we mean it.

Anyone go to Hector’s last game at the BBG? Was it Watford who we’re going to be promoted? 3-2 with Kev scoring the winner? Or have I dreamed all that?

Kevin Hector, I was 8 years old when Derby got promoted to the 1st division under Cloughie. My dad used to get me and my 6 year old brother reciting the teams names till we knew them all off by heart. Hector was always my favourite and he was criminally overlooked to play for England in favour of the London boys. I remember him coming on late in the game against Poland and almost scoring when we failed to qualify for the World Cup. In recent years it’s Will Hughes, was gutted when he got sold.
