Its immoral, possibly illegal, what the EFL are doing. We've taken the punishment but our unbelievable performances, team spirit, Rooney's leadership pulling the whole lot together, has scared the EFL into moving the goal posts. 
They must really be in hock to Gibson to do this to us.

Have Boro made any public statement whatsoever to anyone about their claim? Look at the chaos they have caused just by sending an email to the EFL. If they were just asked by someone to make a statement it would be a start. Why doesn’t the sports minister ask them to explain their claim?

It’s sad that such an amazing performance has been lost on here to some degree due to all the other baalocks going on. I came on to post Saturday night about the game and the match thread was well down the list, had to properly search for the ratings thread.

Put our claim in now, we want £200mil from QPR. While we are at it, how about £50mil from every other club that has breached ffp and cost us the couple of points which would have given us automatic promotion. Start the free for all.

I did not believe in a witch hunt against us by the EFL at first.
However, this seems very suspicious that we now have a good chance to avoid relegation, we may have been very close to appointing preferred bidders and we were only just into January. Being so early in January with new owners we could get reinforcements and with Rooney’s contacts (players like Diallo in the Championship) all of a sudden us surviving became very real. Then all of a sudden the EFL slap this demand on us. Plus other clubs are annoyed we are rejecting pitiful bids.
I now think the EFL have a real dislike of Derby and want us to suffer. Whilst I do not think they will see us liquidated I do think they will have us as close to death as possible before they ‘help us’.

Thought we might avoid relegation so are looking for more coffin nails

If the EFL don’t sort this pathetic nonsense out then we will know exactly where they stand. I think we need to start our case against Villa and QPR. Also Liverpool for failing to control their fans costing us a place in Europe in 1989. Obviously Charlton will sue for the ball bursting in the 1946 FA cup final so that game might need replaying. Fulham will sue for the game in 1983 which is fair enough. Can someone find Paul Emson and Mick Brolly for the replayed game that needs to take place? Perhaps we can have a reset and play every game since 1945 to make sure that all is above board.
 
Poor Gibson. He wanted Waghorn so badly that when he was available on a free this summer he wasn’t interested. It’s a crying shame isn’t it. It’s Coventry I feel sorry for. Having signed Pickering, Coop, Konjic and Powell from them, the case against them is pretty clear cut and could bankrupt them. I would instruct the lawyers straight away.

I actually agree with a lot of what you've said there in relation to FFP. There is plenty of blame to go around for that, but the EFL should take plenty as there were ways in which the mess could have been sorted without constantly pushing for a points deduction. They also know the whole FFP thing is massively flawed, but still decided to make life as difficult as possible for us.  Even so, if FFP were the sum-total of our problems, we could've stomached the 9 point deduction and still have a reasonable chance of staying up.
The administration is a completely different thing and must be all down to Mel I'm afraid. Either he ran out of money (in which case he should've reined in spending earlier) or decided to stop providing the funding (in which case, while I understand it can't be much fun peeing £1m a month up a wall, he took on that responsibility when he bought us and with or without COVID allowed things to get this bad). Putting us into administration definitely confined us to League 1, probably means selling whatever few assets we have left, means we'll be struggling on a shoestring for years and, ultimately, puts the club at risk of going under completely and disappearing. That is completely unforgiveable.

Yes I can vouch for the friendlyness of Burnley fans, When hoping to play some pub games after a match there in the 80s, They willingly threw us some darts and pool balls ?
Having said that...The ale prices there were a shock even for us living in Derby, We all got leathered on £5 each, And even had change to buy some footware.

The EFL will wait to see what plays out between Boro, Wycombe and Derby and yes they will be loving it.
Immediately after a settlement is reached the EFL will create new rules stopping clubs from charging each other, IE: us charging QPR and Villa.
As for liquidation. As soon as the name Gadsby came up it was enough for me to realise we won't be liquidated. Gadsby isn't the best option, but he is the insurance option. He won't allow the club to go under, him and other rich fans he will know will chuck the bare minimum in to keep the club afloat before selling us on eventually. Can't grumble at that really.
