  1. Knowing the likelihood of this perhaps plans could have been made for a half way house like at other events where fans come on pitch but there is a sort of safety area around the tunnel area kept free for club/player celebrations keeping everyone happy. The scenes outside ground few years back where players celebrated with fans were brilliant but not all fans can get to or run onto the pitch. I do get the joyous spontaneity of fans running on but it stops the team celebrating in safety

I'm not a fan of pitch invasions - and I'm not being the fun police here, quite the opposite. As has been pointed out, it risks cancellation of laps of honour, presentations and a chance to actually see the players celebrate.

I'd rather watch PW start the bounce with an ecstatic squad with him than watch 22 knackered footballers run for their life towards the tunnel.

This is it for me. If we go up I will be overjoyed and I want to see the spontaneous final whistle celebrations of players and staff and who knows PW starting the bounce without them having to run off and celebrate in the tunnel/dressing room. If we go up and there is a pitch invasion we will have VAR subdued and delayed celebrations and perhaps nothing after. But we all know it will happen

Watched his first game - never been so happy after a 5-0 or 5-1 thrashing.

Still have my "Igor says Idemo Gore" ("we're going up" in Croatian) T-shirt from the Ramtique........choices, choices....it's that or the '96 Puma promotion shirt tomorrow 🤔

If we go up and see Igor - for me it doesnt get better than that. Glad ordered one of the Igor flags now

  4. Never met Daniel but spoke on here and have thought about him a fair bit this week in the build up to this and how out of control with loads of rallying threads he would have been on here this week 😂

I like to think he and the many others who saw the recent deep trough we were in but are now sadly missed will be there doing their bit from above to help get us back up

    One other thing...

Assuming we all leave together (Which I concede may well not be the case tomorrow)...

The walk back towards the cricket ground takes a similar time as the official supporters buses parked up by Subway (I usually get to Pentagon at the same time... and NEVER leave before the final whistle!).
No other traffic (Other than away fan coaches?) can leave the stadium area before those buses, so any other matchday traffic will be behind them. That should infer a clean getaway from the cricket ground/racecourse area before the traffic builds up around there.

Did those timings still work on sombrero day or did the additional wind resistance delay you? I wound my mum up this week saying that people were wearing sombreros again tomorrow - the look she gave me was equivalent of 1000 words, none good

I could do with some advice please. Haven’t renewed yet as my lad wants to move. We’re in the West Lower and it’s pretty quiet. The players’ families sit in the block on the left and there isn’t much atmosphere around us. I don’t mind it but he loves our away days and wants to be in the South Stand. There aren’t any season tickets available though and when I contacted the club, they said there might be some after the renewals deadline but can’t guarantee it. It seems unlikely to me.

Looking at the rest of the ground, the only area with 2 seats together that I think would be a better atmosphere is in block I of the East Upper. Does anyone sit around here? It’s close to the away fans, so is it rowdy?

We wanted to move last year so renewed existing tickets to get lower price and moved as soon as other non-renewing seats released. Even if we go up some wont be renewing. We are in block that had no seats shown as free in first phase. But guess that only works if you will be renewing somewhere regardless not if only going if can move.

So what was weird today, I went to back row, directly behind goal (my actual seat was back row, 20 seats along but didn’t try to use it), and the two seats next to me remained empty. It also felt like around us there were a few empty seats as well.

So the mad rush I was expecting pre kick off due to in allocated seating didn’t materialise. It almost felt as if that stand could sit 1800/2000 but they only sell less.

    Really strange, but wasn’t unhappy!

We could see it filling up from where we were sat - our fans did it perfectly filling out from the middle to both sides without obvious gaps. Also shall we say that with perhaps those that contributed to the local hospitality sector most on the sides with their later arrival, it seemed to help the singing

Since Covid really, it’s been hard. From not being able to go to watch, to then being plunged into administration & feeling like we were kind of Death Row waiting for the inevitable was very, very hard.

This. I truly thought we were going in admin. Everyone always says it'll take a big club to go before anything changes and I thought we were it. Added to that the terrible stuff we were going through with my dad's dementia (his first awful episode was the night we went into admin) and it was really rock bottom.  Have felt quite emotional many times at PP since Christmas because of what going up represents and it hit me again yesterday at the game esp as Camb away was first match dad took me to. I cannot imagine what it feels like for David Clowes and his family.

I dont care if other teams mock us if we do go up and celebrate it as if we've won the champions league as its not just the promotion and until it happens to their team in the same way they will never understand.

  9. I have always liked PW but at one stage I passed over to the just about had enough of this side of the argument after a negative spell but never stopped supporting and wanting us to win. But then I stopped doing the matchday prediction thread and Adams was signed. Not sure which had greatest effect!

With the injuries he has had, especially to forward players, PW and his team have had a brilliant run-in. Hope we get the dream end next week with a win. Saw some idiot post thanks for promotion now bye bye on twitter. Words fail me.  On the injuries front couple of weeks ago heard a radio discussion on EPL and how many coaches were linking increase in certain injuries to the additional time being played and general delays in games this season. Sure this will be discussed more

Should have stuck with my initial view of PW that he is just what we needed post admin. Looking forward to him being the boss next season wherever we are.

  10. My son cant remember us being promoted. After two years trying he's got into his dream course at uni. The only offerholder day is next Saturday in Southampton. Huge choice to make for next 6 years of his life. Thats fine I said we can go friday look round then and hopefully important bit is first thing Saturday then we can drive to match. Then the 12.30 reality hit me. Hence we went in home end yesterday and hung around to meet players. But devastated to miss it. Anyone have helicopter we can borrow?

Can you imagine what that season would have been like if we'd had social media/this forum?!

'Smith out' after four matches with only two points.

'John Harkes is stealing a living.'

'Why is he playing 3-4-1-2? That's never been done before, so must be bad'

All those draws in Jan and Feb would have created an intense debate whether it was good to keep the unbeaten run going or two points dropped.

The feeling on the way home from Tranmere was so strange - we'd been thrashed but I'd seen a football god playing in the second tier and for little old Derby.

Anyway that's enough reminiscing. Let's create some more memories next week. COYR

Yep Igor would have had same as Bradley this year

We really need Peterborough to win mid-week to take this game seriously. We saw Oxford turn them over 5-0 and they’ve conceded 56 goals this season so they’ve got a problem keeping the ball out the net, I wouldn’t fancy them keeping the score down if they rest players against Bolton. Bolton really only need to win by three goals as they have the goal scored tiebreaker (should we lose).

It helps the League One play-offs starts the following Friday (3rd placed) so you’d imagine that it will be situational based on their result, our result. If I’m Warne, I’m tempted to play the low block, keep things tight and hit Carlisle on the counter. Starve them of opportunities. Ultimately we only need a point and it makes no odds to Carlisle so we could play it out, slow the game right down. They’ve lost 16 of their last 21 games (2024 record). It’s been a limp finish from them. Give them a way out of getting a draw to end the season, don’t force the issue and give them an opportunity, just play it around and keep them at arms length. If they want to commit players then hit them on the counter, otherwise I would see if they would like a point and an unbeaten finish to the season.

    In theory but its us.

  13. So yesterday big thing made of CUFC coming back out for lap of appreciation and awards. There was an exodus and very few left for it plus very quiet around us in main stand not just singing but also just general in match chat and comments. Seemed lots of gold kit but perhaps more Rams than we thought. We definitely sat near two as you could read larger font messages 😂

  14. ATG but taking neighbouring home fans muttering into account

1Wildsmith 6 great save but dodgy hesitant moment and terrible kicks

    35Nelson 7.5

    5Bradley 7.5

    6Cashin 8

    2Wilson 6.5

    7Barkhuizen 6

    12Smith 7

    32Adams 7.5

    17Sibley 8

    16Thompson 7.5

    8Bird 🦅 6.5

    9Collins 7

    11Méndez-Laing 8

    10Waghorn 5.5

  15. Well the worst thing about home end is not not celebrating but not instinctively tutting or groaning when we lose the ball.  Their fans next me really did not like NML, Tommo, Ebou or Sibs showing they were good. The advantage of the home end was meeting lots of players and PW when they emerged. Not only does Collins work hard on the pitch but he carries very big bags to the bus

    Straight from the horses/footballers mouths:

Wildsmith was asked about rumours of him leaving Derby. He has not yet been offered a new contract.
Ebou and his missus are absolutely loving everything about Derby. He said there are several things that need to fall into place about signing but seemed positive. He is the loveliest down to earth person. Didn’t stop smiling all night. If we need to forcefully restrain him to keep him here count me in! He doesn’t mind the Ebou chant sounding like booing.

Dwight Gayle is recovering well and hoping to be back next week.

Max Bird still very much focused on the next too games, despite moving on.

    Nathaniel Mendez-Laing smells very nice

I can confirm that NML does indeed smell very very very nice having met him on his way out of the ground today
