I think Derby County Community Trust might continue their fund to buy tickets for families who can't afford it. If they do, you'd be putting money into the club and adding to the matchday atmosphere. What's not to like about that?

If I could wish for my son to grow into any man - it would be somebody like Curtis. Inside and out, he seems a beautiful human being. 

As that late nineties generation, football for me has always been a Sky product. 
I’m of the generation that worships the Premiership that the tv money gave us as kids. That 04-11 era of the Prem is so well documented and mythologised with my mates. It’s still got a tight grip whether it’s watching Premier League Years or old clips of games/goals on social media.
I think subconsciously for my generation there’s an idea that the money has made football better but it’s just the tv product that’s better.
If people my age had ever known the relative parity of the 60’s-80’s, I think we’d prefer that but as you say, all we know is the circus.
Being a season ticket holder at a perennial championship club does give you a perspective that friends that support Chelsea/Liverpool etc don’t have. Football is sort of now an eternal hell hole where blood, sweat and tears go into just trying to get a seat at the PL table.
It’s a point that’s been made a million times but…that’s the grand prize for so many clubs is being the team that people from all corners of the world are watching Man City stick four past on a Monday night.

It would have been a shame if there'd been a parting of the ways.

Villa fan here, just wanted to come and say 1) good luck with getting back to the Champ, and 2) Chester....
Chester was a huge asset for us in the Champ, a real leader and loved by the squad, Grealish specifically said he was the single biggest leader in the dressing room during our Championship years.
He is a great player for L1 level for sure, in terms of his injury record, Steve Bruce destroyed his knee by playing him week in, week out with a serious injury after we failed to sign any centre backs and bought 50 right backs instead, terrible really, but Chester soldiered on like a warrior for the team.
looks like he played 21 times for Stoke last season, so fingers crossed he will stay fit for you, if he does, great signing (probably the reason for the 1 year deal).
