i can tell you the Millwall offer would make you laugh, i cant say how i know but it is taking the **** and if the EFL are wanting us to accept such ridiculous offers because clubs are jumping up n down having a paddy we will struggle to get a million for all our squad.

I mean, you want the guy that played for us, was a coach and assistant manager in our last successful period, then left to win everything as fergies assistant before going it alone and ultimately getting the england job,who then came back and had a great crack at getting us up and nearly getting there...to clear off out of 'our' club. Pretty sure at this point it's more his club then ours!

But I'm thinking it's like going to speed dating 3 or 4 times and leaving empty handed.. then finally coming home with a phone number and a date to meet up...you're not in bed together but you're definitely washing your bits.....

Totally agree…. I’d go even further and say that the number of players registered to a club needs to be capped at a sensible level. This will prevent bigger, hyper clubs ‘hoovering’ up all of the potential from younger levels and also prevent them on ‘stealing’ players already in academy developments.

Excellent point, so good I've changed my opinion which is rare to hear on an Internet forum.
I agree with you, the EFL and Steve Gibson are only looking out for our best interests, we should be thanking them really for bringing justice upon us and forcing us to clean up our act.
    Viva Steve Gibson!

HectorsHouse reacted to hydraulic ram in A little note to the team
No idea if anyone from the club reads this forum, but after Saturday I have to remind the team of something they maybe don't see so clearly. I'm not a great motivation guy like @B4ev6is but I'll give it a try!
OK, no doubt enough has been said about Saturday. Its gone and that's it. But this club still has its destiny in it's own hands and there's something else. This team has an opportunity that is a rare as hen's teeth - this team could reach the status of legendary.
The chance to become a club legend is something a player may see maybe once in a career - if they are lucky. Plenty of great players never reach that level, they are remembered dimly after they move on - but legends, now they are always in the fans minds. Its a simple fact, become a legend, get footballing immortality.
If this team pulls off the impossible escape from the drop they achieve legend status, and some. Not only do they get the accolade this year, but this team would also irritate the EFL at the highest level, they would be remembered with pain by the teams they relegate for years, they would get so far up the red dogs noses they wont stop moaning about it for decades, for heavens sake if this team survives they give a level 11+ butt-hurt to a certain Middlesbrough owner - surely that level of legend is worth any amount of effort and application.
Its your big chance, it's all down to you, no one else. Theres plenty of games and the points can be yours. We the fans will support long, loud and proud, but you need to do the stuff on the grass - grab every single point you can, even if its a pain and a struggle. If you can't win, keep a draw, if you are heading for a point, push for three. Don't be satisfied with "also ran" and grab your chance at immortality with two hands!
Play for that status because quite simply - you won't get a better chance of getting it. And if you do it, you won't be forgotten - this club has a long memory.
Be remembered as the Rams legends who did not give up despite it all, not forgotten as the relegation squad.

HectorsHouse reacted to CBRammette in Wayne Rooney
About a month ago he was being compared to Churchill in pulling the club together. Have fans criticising really forgotten our threadbare squad and how many who signed on relatively low wages to make up the 23 seemed to have been persuaded to train with us and then sign due to Wayne's efforts? And we will never know how much of a draw having Wayne here is to potential investors compared to someone with no profile?  I'm not saying all is going well on the pitch but compared to where I thought we'd be in those desperate days we're not too shoddy. No surprise that the team is performing less well when they presumably know potential investors are in attendance.

I am sick to death of people on this forum with their self loathing of the mighty Rams. In fact i do wonder if there are some on here who are actually planted by EFL or by other clubs as pretend Rams fans stirring up pro EFL propaganda and anti Rams crap.

I actually like us playing out the back. I’m not particularly nervous when we do it. Our problem is the midfield play it back once it’s out. We’re not quick enough in transition from the midfield through the lines to the forward players. Obviously, if we could do that, we’d be a different proposition. It wasn’t helped tonight by constant little fouls and pulls on our players when we did break the lines. That’s a lack of physicality on our side too.

The alternative is  to hit it down the channels or straight down the middle. Normally means a turnover of possession very quickly.

I hope we don’t give up on our style too quickly.

I do think tweets like this are a bit of an insult to the history of Derby County, who played at the very highest level of English football for decades before "The Premier League" was even thought of!

Giving a free kick away on the halfway line does not contribute to the goal we have eleven men behind the ball when it's taken and as a team we should be able to defend the situation properly.

If we had won no one would be calling for him to be sacked.
But because of a string of defensive mistakes Rooney deserves to be sacked?
    1. Forsyth ducked under the ball, Jozwiak reacted too slowly and Byrne gave his man half of the pitch
    2. Shinnie/Forsyth trying to head the same ball, Davies coming out to head Bird's ball, Davies not getting back into position quick enough, and Byrne forgetting how to kick a ball
Basic errors which the players are the only ones responsible for.

My other questions would be to ask what we are doing to improve recruitment as its largely to blame for the mess we find ourselves in? We are undeniably one of the worst clubs in the country when it comes recruiting players for both the ability we recruit and in resale value of the players we sign. As far as I know, it hasn't changed since Mel walked through the door. If I was him, I would've chemically castrated the entire lot for wasting 10s of millions of my money. He seems a patient man in that regard.
