Retired at 59, not sure about your superannuation system but here your employer has to put in 11% and depending on what union eba, employees top up on top of that I think 3-4%. A flat 15% tax rate on monies going in so a good incentive to up top up personally. After age 60 any outgoings is tax free. At 67 you can get the aged pension.
When I retired I spent 9 months refurbishing both my daughters homes as well as plenty of travel. I had a local school wanting me to help with casual maintenance 3 years ago and word of mouth I’m now doing 3 days at 3 different schools a week. Good thing is I go on holidays whenever I want. Leaving for Scotland, Croatia and England for 6 weeks in 12 hours.

If we go up, surely recruitment would have to be considered a success as we will have completed a key objective? Being overly critical of recruitment seems harsh when no club gets every move right.
Warne, Thomas and the club have made mistakes, there’s no denying that. The signings of John Jules and Embleton were always a huge risk and never looked likely to pay off, for example.
But on the whole, they have got plenty right. Adams, Wilson and Nelson have become important first team players and each of them is playing a key role in a promotion push. Gayle and Nyambe have shown their class and surely would have contributed more if not for injuries.
Even signings that have clearly not lived up to expectations have still contributed across the season to a winning team. Ward, Bradley, Waghorn, Washington and Elder have all played a role and contributed to the team earning important results at one time or another.
There are even signings that have disappointed so far - CBT and Fornah - who may benefit from a clean slate in pre season with the hope of there being more to come.

It pains me to say it, but they'll stay up, simply by the virtue of Burnley & Luton being slightly more rubbish than them.  Having said that, if Luton grab a point or three at Wolves it'll put massive pressure on the Treetards to pick points in their home-banker against reigning Premier League, FA Cup & Champions League holders Manchester Cit-eh...

Paul Warne barring a complete disaster has done his job, fair play to him and Clowes got it bang right 👌 but this is not the football I wanna watch week in week out, great that Warne has done his job and taken us up but sorry that’s not for me next year 😢

…are you for the last 2 games? I’ve been home & away for most of the season but had to reluctantly relinquish my tickets for Cambridge & Carlisle for the sunnier clime of Sri Lanka from where I’ll be watching tonight. Pre-match today I’m taking plenty of fluid on board and doing some light pool work just to keep myself loose. It’s my birthday tomorrow so hopefully the Rams will present me with 3 points just to make tomorrow sweeter.
Where are you watching from if you’re not at the game? 🐏

I'm going to assume promotion for this and we'll go with a 3412/3421...
Loans for: Evans, Rooney, Fornah, Radcliffe, Weston
Extensions for: Forsyth (backup and in-game coaching for U21s), Sibley, Thompson and DRobinson
Meaning we retain the following squad:
    GK: Vickers
    RCB: Nelson, Nyambe
    CB: Bradley, Forsyth
    LCB: Cashin
    RWB: Ward, Wilson
    LWB: Sibley, Elder
    DM: -
    CM: LThompson, DRobinson
    RW: -
    LW: Mendez-Laing, Blackett-Taylor
    CF: Washington, DBrown
In my squad, that would leave gaps at GK(x2), CB, LWB, DM(x2), CM, RW(x2), CF(x2) - 11 signings
GK, 1st choice - Chris Walton (free, Ipswich)
GK, 3rd choice - John Ruddy (free, Birmingham) May want to go somewhere he will get game time which would rule us out. He's at the age where he should be stepping back, and he wouldn't have to move too far if he were to join us.
CB, 1st choice - Sam Stubbs (free, Bradford). A risky option, but he's still only 25, dominant in the air, and a good defender. He is slow so could struggle with stepping up a couple of divisions. Saying that, I thought he played very well in his game against us in the EFL Trophy.

LWB, rotation - Sam McCallum (free, Norwich)

DM, 1st choice - Ebou Adams (£?). Makes our team click without doing anything fancy. Difficult to say what Cardiff would want for him.

DM, 2nd choice - Nohan Kenneh (£?, Hibs). He would often train with the first team at Leeds under Bielsa, so you know the type of player he is. A 21 year old version of Adams.

CM, 1st choice - Herbie Kane (free, Barnsley). Would take over from Hourihane as the main set-piece taker.

RW, rotation - Tyrhys Dolan (compensation, Blackburn). Versitile, coming through as a winger at Blackburn before moving more central this season. The type of player you need in a squad to give the flexibility between formations depending on opposition and injuries within the squad.

RW, rotation - Femi Azeez (compensation, Reading). One of the best wingers in the league, with a high goal contribution output. Will be in high demand, so an unlikely signing.

CF, 1st choice - Harry Leonard (loan, Blackburn). A good all-round forward who creates as well as scores. We were apparently close to signing him in January, so I can see us going back in for him in the summer.

CF, 2nd choice - John McAtee (loan, Luton). More of a #10, but is another hard worker and one of the more creative CFs in L1.

    A final squad of:
    GK: Walton, Vickers, Ruddy
    RCB: Nelson, Nyambe
    CB: Stubbs, Bradley, Forsyth
    LCB: Cashin
    RWB: Ward, Wilson
    LWB: McCallum, Sibley, Elder
    DM: Adams, Kenneh
    CM: Kane, LThompson, DRobinson
    RW: Dolan, Azeez
    LW: Mendez-Laing, Blackett-Taylor
    CF: Leonard, McAtee, Washington, DBrown

A question at the fans forum was raised, asking Buxton and Hale if they think the U18/21 players ahold have been given more of an opportunity this season. The response being "they haven't done enough to convince Warne". They also stated Thomspon not being a top performer in the U21s, but stepping up seamlessly under Rooney.
None have played more than Robinson, who has only got 90 minutes vs a Wolves U21 side and hasn't played in any other game. The only player to feature in the League (Brown) has only got 13 minutes, I would be extremely surprised to see someone getting a chance this season.
Take that Wolves U21 game away, then you really see how willing Warne is to using them: Brown (30 mins), Radcliffe (11 mins) Weston (6 mins) and Fapetu (2 mins). It's pathetic.
They could have had a meaningful amount of minutes earlier in the season, even against the likes of Crewe or Bradford in Cup competitions, or when 2 goals up against Carlisle, Leyton Orient, and Bristol Rovers. If they were, we'd now have a better idea of whether they could step in for a couple of games. Even if they weren't ready, using them in more games would have helped keep our older players fresher, and potentially injury free.

I don't like seeing Sibley at left back, but if Fozzy and Elder are injured and we're playing 4 at the back, then it has to be him. With the bonus of a goalscorer/attacking player in the team when, last night against Charlton we only really had two in NML and Gayle. Wilson was brought as a defender and although he can be very useful on the wing, I don't see him ever scoring many. Nathan Jones just had to nullify two players and hope we didn't score from a set piece.
Warne said on Radio Derby after the game something to the effect that he thought about playing Sibley there, but he wanted to get all his best players on the pitch. That's not a quote - I'd have to listen to it back, but the truth is I can't be bothered to put myself through that again. So, Warne moved by far his best central defender out wide, and by only playing two attackers his strategy appeared to be to stay in the game and hope we nicked a goal from a set piece. Against a team without a win in 20+ games. I am desperate for Warne to get us promoted this season - I HATE us being in this league. But I would sack him at the end of the season either way, and bring in a better coach/tactician.

Only a fool would sack PW now, DC is no fool so unless PW walks he's here until the seasons end, Charlton not won for 20+ games, Nathan Jones has had an effect, Not the same effect PW has had on us, It's not a good look losing to Charlton, The manager takes the plaudits when we went on a good run...now he's in the firing line...and rightly so.
This division is shyte we all know that, I look at Sonny Bradley and see that PW is determined to find a place for him, We're more suited to a back 4, So that would leave Bradley out of the team, PW has to hold his hand up again and say "I got it wrong again" but he wont.
I don't see automatics now, Chelsea were slated by Gary Neville as "billion pound bottle jobs" you have to have the bottle to lose it, I never thought we had it in the 1st place...excluding Adams.
Some very angry posters on here tonight...and I understand why 👍

Ram-a-lama fa fa fa reacted to Carl Sagan in Derby v Stevenage FC - Match Day Thread
As we near the business end of the season, with 14 games to go, the path to automatics is becoming more distinct:
win 11 and we're likely promoted; win 10 and it's very much in the balance; win 9 and it's the playoffs for us. Those 14 games are split 8 home and 6 away:
H Stevenage A Barnsley H Charlton H Port Vale A Bristol Rovers H Reading H Bolton A Northampton H Blackpool A Portsmouth A Wycombe H Orient A Cambridge H Carlisle We used up one life last Saturday by only drawing at home to Shrewsbury. If we want automatic promotion, in this mediocre division draws are effectively defeats unless playing Bolton or Portsmouth.
For this match we need to step it up in home, as we should be hoping/expecting to win 7 out of the 8 remaining home games, and then 4 out of the 6 remaining away games. It isn't quite "must-win" but it very nearly is. Let's hope the crowd gets behind the lads, and the lads give the crowd strong reason to get behind them. Come on you Rams!

No issue with the lineup myself, and I'd rather Warne was brave enough to start with the 3 tbh, than only switching to it because we've been crap or when we feel we can get away with it.
Can see it now though tbh, we win match against a team winless in 13 and it's all down the the formation, regardless of whether it made any real difference or not.
