  1. We've always talked about fan ownership. I imagine Barcelona will only offer the fans decisions that ultimately the board arnt fussed either way... but still allows them to feel like they've got a say, or where they know or could predict the fans say. But it still let's the fans feel in control by having their vote.

An example could be a vote on us offering Curtis Davies a reduced contract offer. I don't imagine the outcome to be season defining, but it would certainly increase that fan engagement I'd say by having a vote.

I'd certainly buy into it, especially if it allowed other perks such as defining ticket allocation priorities. Ie, instead of having to own a season ticket + away membership, its based on who owns the most amount of Tokens etc... you're still paying the money, just in a different format.

  2. I've seen in the Crypto Currency world that there are 'Fan Tokens' for various different teams arrising including AC Milan and Barcelona. I've included an extract below which details the purpose...but could it offer more things such as ticket priority schemes etc? Would certainly generate some much needed money.

    Project Introduction

The FC Barcelona Fan Token (BAR) is a utility token that gives FC Barcelona fans a tokenized share of influence on club decisions using the Socios application and services. The token serves as a membership key that allows users to compete for exclusive rewards, club recognition and more.

BAR is a utility token built on Chiliz Chain, a Proof-of-Authority sidechain built on Ethereum.

BAR token holders can vote via smart contract on various "fan decision" polls published by FC Barcelona. The team is contractually bound to act according to poll results.

BAR Fan Token holders utilize their Fan Token to vote via smart-contract on various “fan decision” polls published by FC Barcelona. The club is contractually bound to act on all binding poll results.

Token holders can interact with the Socios platform (voting on polls, competing in contests and quizzes, connecting/chatting with like-minded users, etc.) and earn rewards, including, matchday tickets, exclusive experiences, cashback offers from official online shops, in-app CHZ bonuses, digital badges, and club-specific NFTs.

Future BAR token utility includes spending BAR tokens to redeem VIP goods and services, integrating BAR access in partnered applications/sites, and staking BAR for NFT rewards.

    Key Features and Highlights

Collect fan tokens: Socios.com generates a finite supply of FC Barcelona tokens, blockchain-secured digital assets that give you the right to participate in club surveys. Hunt, Buy or Earn. The more you interact, the more reward points you’ll earn.

Make an impact: When you own Fan Tokens, you join a pool of supporters whose collective decision-making power is absolute. Partner teams will seek your input on club matters by running binding and non-binding polls - binding poll results are an instruction which clubs agree to follow.

Have fun, get rewarded: Fan Tokens will allow you to participate in surveys, access prizes, official products, rankings, games and much more.

By bringing in ordinary loans like Mount, Tomori and Harry. Plus buying Waghorn, Marriott, Malone, JoFlo, Evans and Holmes - yeah dead similar situations. If we give Rooney (or even Cocu) similar finances perhaps we'll see different outcomes?

Didn't Cocu spent circa £10m on one player? A bloody good player don't get me wrong. But i guess that's the risk you take spending so much on one player...

Perhaps it was relief - the players finally realising that they weren't quite as bad as @Sheikh n Bake thought (or hoped?) they were.

Get over yourself, jumped-up 'super fans' with your faux 'disgrace'..

I don't consider myself a super fan. I just don't see only being better than Rotherham and Wycombe over the entire season as any sort of success.

These are the same fans who have slagged Waghorn off for 45 games, but he turns up for game 46 and now we are suggesting we offer him a new contract?

It doesn't make me no less a fan because i haven't got caught up in the emotion of scraping survival on a technicality.

    Did Wycombe players celebrate then?

We stayed up on a technicality for off the pitch business. The players have been woeful this season. We should be relieved... not celebrating like we've achieved some sort of success. The only saving grace is that half of them are going back to their parent club or contract is expiring.

A great opportunity to change the squads identity this summer.

I hope Buchanan, along with a couple others, do get the opportunity to move on in the summer and we don't play hardball with their futures. Sibley, Knight and Bird too.

Until this club starts running itself the right way, I think it would be amiss of me as a supporter to want our talented young players to stick around and be subject to such ineptitude where it leaves a lasting scar on their development.

    Derby fans:

"We need to give our young players an opportunity to move on..."

    Also Derby fans:

"FFS! We sold him for peanuts!!"

So, they are paying £250k each (£750k in total). As already indicated this will get worse post Brexit. if we were talking about a company we would call it asset stripping, for that is what it is. if the 5 that have left go on to make it in the Prem (Delap, Gordon and these 3) we will have lost out big time.

The Prem and EFL need to step in and address the issues here, otherwise what is the point of funding an academy if you have to accept knockdown prices for players that have not signed a contract and then have their heads turned by the big clubs.

Liverpool, the Manchester's and others buy young players for a reason. I think that they should all come with a hefty sell on fee and increments should they reach certain stages such as playing in the Prem, 100 games, and playing for your country.

We have received about about £3m for 5 players that in a couple of years will no doubt have added a few zero's to that figure.

we will not be the only ones that this is happening, but teams especially those in the lower leagues need some protection.

I agree with most of what you've put here. But the alternative way of looking at it, is that we've received £3m for 5 players that have achieved absolutely naff all in their playing career and never contributed anything of note to our first XI. Potential is only potential. There's a good chance that these players never reach their full perceived potential.

Stephen Pearce was on Radio Derby last week saying we would only sell if it made financial sense.

Selling one of the best 16 year olds in the country for £1 million makes no financial sense at all.

I don't care what financial situation we are in this is disgusting.

If he's that good. Which he obviously is (already training with the first team and Rooney said he's one of the best in training)

Then you keep hold of him and get him in the first team next year.

Just like Birmingham did with Jude Bellingham. He was on of the best 16 year olds in the country. One season in the first team and he's off for £35 million.

I mean it's pretty clear that everything Stephen Pearce said on the Radio was a

How much can the board influence the fee? If they can approach him and just pay a compensation fee, maybe this deal works better for us than what any comp would be.

Let's be honest, we're not exactly the most attractive team to play for right now...
