At first I thought it was his greatest 100 touches. Then he scored a few nice goals. Then I thought it was the 100 worst defensive mistakes. Then I thought you can prove whatever you want with a highlights reel so stopped watching.

Impressive. Haven’t seen a highlights reel as impressive since Bobby Duncan. 🪖

I think that's the wrong way around. I always thought Tomori could become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, with his lightning pace to snuff out threats and intercept the ball across the back line, combined with his ball-playing ability. Whereas for Cashin it would mean the game passing him by. Better for Cash to be in the back line with more time to anticipate the play.

He is nowhere near good enough on the ball or has good enough touch in tight spaces. His lack of lateral movement and short area quickness would be exposed big time. Keep seeing this suggested and it would be awful.

Cash has a LOT of potential, but he's always going to be hindered by his lack of pace. In today's game, the defensive line is often sitting inside the opponents half of the pitch, and a ball over the top will ruin him again and again. He'd have been an excellent sweeper back in the day, but you'll always be asking the rest of the team to cover his inadequacies and it'll be exposed more the further up the pyramid he goes.
His contract is up, and that means his market value will not get any lower. If there's an offer and the mandatory loan back is on the table, then we'd be stupid not to accept. If it's a case of needing to spend the money immediately on a replacement, I'd hold him and let him go next summer.
As an aside, I'd be interested to see if he could be turned into a scrappy, nasty, ball-winning defensive midfielder.

Warne's latest comments propels him in to fool status. Being open and honest and having your fingers burned once, fair enough. This is about the 3rd or 4th time this window a player has done a Lord Lucan.
Just stop making statements you can't control Paul.

Whose fault is it exactly if we are not a top three team in this league?
Perhaps I’m being arrogant/entitled/both but Derby County should be a top one team in League One and if we’re not the manager is also heavily responsible for this.

More football has been played down the right hand side in the last five minutes than the whole pitch for the entire game on Tuesday. Rooney looking good. Thomson looking good.

All eyes looked and fingers pointed , due to the timing of the comment, to someone involved in the Jordan Rhodes saga ..  shown around , deal in principle , didn't show for medical .... all gone quiet ..
Prime suspects on this forum were :
    Rhodes himself
    Rhodes agent
Perhaps the fibs were closer to home and Warne had the rug pulled from under him by the person responsible for budgetary compliance and the goalposts moved ?
Makes sense to me at least ....

I didn't agree with the decision to remove Rosenior but I could understand the logic behind it.
I can see how PW's personality, rhetoric and track record would have been appealing. His philosophy on management, how he sells his preferred playing style and how he talks about building a culture, is all completely believable. While I don't completely buy into the brand of football and had massive reservations about the shift from LR to PW, I don't blame DC for making that call, he completely earned the right to make it! Most of what PW says added to his track record made him an entirely legitimate candidate for the stated objectives.
The issue is that he hasn't (yet) demonstrated that he can put words and track record into sustained results. It's not going well and I would say he's got 5-10 games to correct things or he loses the crowd and the players completely, it's that precarious. If you lose the crowd and the players it's only going to go one direction and the question will be whether he walks or Clowse pulls the trigger.
I hope it doesn't come to that but that's the situation as I see it.
I don't 'blame' Clowse for any of that. Sometimes decisions made for the right reasons with the right intentions don't work out.

I do largely agree and think the idea of a wholescale rebuild is good.
However almost every decision around on field matters has been horribly short term. If we don’t go up this year the playing squad will have 0 saleable assets. There’s £3-£4m worth of young players out of contract in a year who we seem to have no thought or intention of selling. In three windows we’ve signed one player with resale potential and that’s only on a 2 year deal. Of course there’s pressure when every decision seems to be centred on promotion ASAP
So to me the on field stuff just doesn’t mesh with the off field stuff. Not really Warne’s fault I guess, more of a general rant, albeit I do think we are probably a bit too “all in” on him.

I also think Warne has painted himself into a corner on getting promoted this year.
He’s signed ready made experienced players. They’re all talking about not messing around and making memories etc.
Then he admits the squad still has the same structural issues as last year.
He might have been cut more slack if he’d brought in some youth and pace and admitted some were a gamble but that he was building the foundations for several seasons of success and growth.

I get the impression that the amount David Clowes is prepared to stump up out of his own pocket is comfortably within any remaining constraints that have been mutually agreed with The EFL.
Personally, I have absolutely no qualms about David Clowes setting himself a budget limit, and keeping to it/within it.  In fact, I'm a big fan of such a sensible approach, and ergo, am a big fan of the guy that saved us.

Its been mentioned by PW that we have a budget agreed with EFL, before Knight sale I think. But whether there were always limits to that budget from EFL or if they just sign off on the club's budget as long as they think reasonable no idea.
If the spend constraints are due to DC who has already saved the club from armageddon wishing not to
-further risk the money his family have made or the businesses in which the family has employed people
    - or manage the club sustainably after where we got to under Morris
then I am not worried at all. I think we will probably never know just how badly Mel left everything at the club and it is going to be a slow build. There obviously needed to be reinvestment in the decimated academy as well as the first team which presumably all comes from the same pot.

I am not shooting you down saying the above but just I do trust DC is doing things correctly for the long term future of the club. Having said that I do think its important we get out of this division ASAP as if/when crowds start to drop off longer term we will be more constrained
