We are all expressing our own opinions on here. They are often opinions without background knowledge.
We have no idea how players have performed in training, what’s going on in their personal lives, who’s a good influence and who isn’t.
So there is every possibility that we are wrong. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t have our say, or indeed that other ’experts’ should tell us we are wrong, or even stupid.
I am quite happy to admit that I was a complete arse in doubting Collins’ ability to score goals this season.
I have been a strong critic of Sonny Bradley, and whilst some of that was justified, I’m delighted at the way he has played at the end of the season.
We’re all fallible but please let’s be more respectful of other opinions. Just as we don’t know much about the players’ private lives, you never know what posters on here are going through and how a casual slur can affect them.

I would have preferred more entertaining football and control in games. I think that the lack of control in games led to unnecessary physical exertion which there is a good case for saying led to the amount of injuries. Some may argue our style of play played a part in Bird wanting to leave. Pure speculation of course.
I think much of the recruitment was ill thought out. Too many signings of players who were arriving with injuries, too near the end of the career or hadn't played for a while which didn't fit well with Warne's style of play. He signed Fornah to do a job he want physically capable of doing.
There is an argument that our superior budget dug us out of a mess of our own making with the arrivals of Nyambe, Adams and Gayle later in the season.
I thought the whole captaincy process and back 5 insistence made him and Bradley look weak to many people. I can see the sense in a vote on captaincy but there was a perception amongst fans that Bradley was brought in to do this and that Hourihane wouldn't have been his choice.
On the plus side, we bounced back from adversity well. We never went on a dreadful run like we have under other managers. Some more cynical may suggest its easier to bounce back as you are never more than a couple of matches from playing a poor team.
We showed some good resilience in important/difficult games. Our away performances against Pompey, Posh (first half) and in patches Bolton were very good.
He eventually solved the back 4 problem with Nyambe and in January solved the midfield energy problem with Adams.
In terms of PW I don't hate him. I hate very few people. I didn't like 2 interviews he did this year and I know they irritated many on here, some of whom have a rosier view of PW than myself. I'm fairly ambivalent to him generally. I dont feel the love that i had for Cox and Smith but he equally isn't a Pearson or even a Clement.
He has talked about needing a lot of changes for next year. I hope that means looking after the ball a bit more and not just taller, quicker versions of what we have now. His admiration for Bird gives me some hope in that direction.
My view of fans on here defending/over defending PW by pointing to limited resources is a bit off. They are only limited in terms of fees and in comparison to the MM Madness. We had a very good budget on wage bill compared to the rest of the league.
    That is my constructive view.

Cameron Brannigan, Ebou Adams & Josh Sheehan would be a very decent midfield next season.

I've been reading that the EFL might dock us points if there is a pitch invasion after the game on Saturday. I find that pretty hard to believe. Pompey fans would be on the pitch if they were at home - they already did it last week. Several teams who avoid relegation will be on their pitches. Same in the other divisions. Are all of them going to get points deductions? I think not.
The reality is that, IF we are promoted on Saturday, there will be a pitch invasion. 1,000 people will do it anyway. As soon as they are on the pitch, everyone else will follow. It's football and events like this are what keeps you going through losing to Southend in freezing conditions in February.
The downside is that some people aren't able to get onto the pitch. IMO, the club should embrace it and make provision for helping the less able bodied to participate in the best party of the year.

Instead of belittling people who aren't fans of Warne or confident in him in the long term, why not try debating the points they make.

Anthony Evans at Bristol Rovers one of best players I’ve seen in this league. Plays as an attacking midfielder.

I think there’s a lot of “frequency illusion” going on with Bradley. Some have formed a view and are looking for things to reinforce that view and focusing on that.  Yes, he had a dodgy start and was, quite rightly, dropped.  But since getting a regular place he’s not made glaring errors that have cost us points.  His only misdemeanour was the sending off at Northampton.

With the injuries, we really could do with him stepping up now. Leyton Orient, Blackpool, Wycombe, Carlisle & Cambridge are all teams he's had goals/assists against this season, so we could do with him reproducing that going forward.

Has the potential to nail down a regular starting slot for me - and could play any number of positions, which ironically might count against him.
One of the quickest I’ve seen dribbling the ball with various tricks to beat a defender and as we’ve seen, decent in the air too.  He is certianly one who is Championship quality.
He is loving his time here and I suspect feels really settled.  Keep it going Lane lad.
He does seem to tire when he starts games but PW will hopefully have him super fit for next season, as I don’t think he got a proper pre-season.

Arrived carrying injuries when it’s already very difficult coming in to a new squad getting used to how players and the team like to play.
I agree, underwhelmed so far but has showed glimpses of what he could be about.
He will need to work harder in a PW team, but add that to his ability and I think he will prove to be a good signing.

    Stick to 343.

Either bring in CBT and Waggy for Barkz and Gayle or bring in Elder for Barkz and have Sibley as one of the three.

I really liked the theory that was laid out in the final couple of years of Mel’s tenure (frightening sentence, I know). The idea that over half the first team would be made up of academy players, with high quality loans to cover shorter term gaps and good signings brought in to cover areas where there were no players coming through. I thought this was quite a good model in the modern day. It would attract youngsters with high ceilings to the club as their was a clear path to the first team, build confidence with other clubs to lend us their best talent, and allow us to spend decent money on players as academy players would be pure profit. It seemed to align academy with first team and present a good vision for a modern sustainable football club.

I think we were maybe a couple of seasons from seeing it come to fruition too. We were looking at having a team/squad with the potential of having Knight, Bird, Sibley, Thompson, Delap, Gordon, Kellyman, Cashin, Ebosele, Buchanan, Whitaker, Plange, and Williams all drawn from our own academy in it. We all know why it never happened, and the initial idea behind it may have been pushed by outside factors, but looking at the idea on paper it showed a club well aligned in philosophy, both in development and recruitment.
At the moment I don’t really know what the plan is. Academy players don’t seem to be anywhere near it. That might be due to the club being gutted and them not being to the standard but they never seem to be given a chance. The recruitment seems to be focused on older players, but they don’t appear to fit a system. Cocu spoke about having all teams playing the same way so younger players can step up, which seems really sensible, but currently our first team doesn’t seem to have a consistent way of playing let alone something aligned through the age groups. I think we could do with really setting out a clear goal and a philosophy and working towards it. It would really allow supporters to buy into the vision and direction. Build trust and patience. And, as I think supporters often back their academy graduates the most, really build a unity between team and fans.

This is why I suspect he doesn't really 'enjoy' being Derby manager. More pressure, more expectations, less patience. Comes with the territory of managing a good sized club. His whole personality and setup just seems geared towards a club punching above it's weight, not a club expecting more than it currently has.

Most of his interviews are bizarre and the press must love it.  They ask a question and he rambles on, and starts answering and asking himself questions he thinks might be coming.
At least he has some personality and it's not the stock answers most managers trot out.
I do think he sets himself for a fall though by being far too honest - he will/should learn from this.
I also think, as a player if you are with him you'll go more than the extra mile, so hopefully they have all bought in to his ethos.  I'd bet if you are an outsider, then he wouldn't give you the time of day.
Ultimately, he's a complex character and I'd love to share a pint with him and talk football.  Whenever your free PW - your round !
