The handball one is a little more egregious to me, wrong side of the pitch for the lino, but the ref has a decent view of it.

If you look a bit closely at the photo, you'll see the lino is on that side of the pitch, very close to their player. Unfortunately, he seems to be looking across the back line, looking for offside and not looking at the player with the ball.

It’s unreal how dismissive you are of the club and team you claim to support.

Current top 6 are Portsmouth, Bolton, Barnsley, Peterborough, Lincoln and us.

Against Portsmouth this season we drew home (1-1) and away (2-2).

Against Bolton we lost away (2-1) and won at home (1-0).

Against Barnsley we won at home (3-0) and lost away (2-1)

Against Peterborough we won away (2-4) and lost at home (2-3)

Against Lincoln we won at home (3-1) and drew away (0-0)

    As you mentioned Stevenage I’ll include them and Oxford too as they were in and around the play off positions most of the season;

Against Stevenage we lost away (3-1) and won at home (1-0)

Against Oxford we lost at home (1-2) and won away (2-3)

To me my original point stands that this season we’ve done better against the teams around us than we did last season, I can’t be bothered looking for the stats but if I remember correctly one of the big criticisms last year from certain quarters was that we didn’t compete well enough with the teams around us. This year I think we have, the results back that up, the fact we are second in the table with 4 games to go backs that up, the fact we’re one of the best scoring teams in the league and the best defences backs that up….. so I’ll carry on being a happy and optimistic little ram while you…. Do whatever it is you do 🤷🏻‍♂️

But, you're using that outdated metric of goals scored against goals conceded, also using the other outdated metric of results.

When will you catch up with the real world? 🤔😁

Matt Taylor came in early doors last season after Warne came here and he kept them up which Warne hadn't managed to achieve. Would Warne have kept them up? We'll never know.

I think that you need to look closer at Rotherham's results last season. They only stayed up because of Warne's excellent start to the season and points deducted from other teams. Under Matt Taylor, Rotherham were comfortably the worst team in the championship last season on points per game and have continued this season.

When Warne left Rotherham last season, they were 8th and had a game in hand, which had they won would have put them in the play off positions.

  4. We almost completely nulified them second half, only conceding to a wonderstrike after a handball. We restricted them to 2 shots on goal in the second half, their fewest all season. So I don't think that the second half tactics were that bad, if we'd pressed higher up the pitch, there would have been much more space for them to exploit, we may have lost the game.

I don't criticise the ref for the handball incident, but surely the linesman was in a perfect position to see it, even their player's reaction indicated that it hit his arm.

So they're expecting to find someone  with a spare £100m to have left over from this season's expenditure?

This is why Notts couldn't get as much as they wanted before June 30th for Brennan. Why would any club keep back these eye watering amounts of money until after the season has finished, surely they will want to spend that money on players at a time when they can add value during that accounting period, ideally after 1st July and before the season starts.

Generally speaking players will have less value in the early part of the summer transfer window before the end of the accounts period. Notts will have known this when they overspent before the start of the season and realised that they would have had to had a forced sale of players at the end of the season and before the end of their accounting period at 30th June, in order to comply with FFP. They chose not to comply, for which there is no defence. They chose to spend over £30m more than they should have, so that over the season, they would have had an advantage over other clubs abiding by the rules.

  6. UB40 are giving a free concert at St Andrews tomorrow, the big downside is that you've got to pay to watch Birmingham beforehand. I would imagine that there'll be a number of people getting into the ground when the exits are opened up towards the end of the match.

Potentially they look like they’ve blown playoffs despite being very heavily backed by their owners. Was thinking exactly the same about Blackpool.

Not as heavily backed as many of the clubs up there, what they have done is to rely heavily on the short term loan market in order to get the magic ticket to the Premier. We nearly did it with Mount, Wilson and Tomori, whereas they have got 8 players on loan in their squad.

There are advantages and disadvantages to this tactic, it's cheaper in the short term but means a massive rebuild next season whatever league they're in, as we found out after our 3 returned to their clubs. Also it doesn't seem that they're building a team for the future, even though they have no restrictions, something PW is criticised for. Unless, LR is just buying time until a good crop of youngsters come through.

It'd be terrific if Ipswich confirm promotion before Forest's appeal is heard. "Impossible? I put it to you Mr De Marco that far from being impossible, Ipswich Town have shown that it is anything but impossible! Appeal dismissed. Have another -4 points for your arrogance."

Ipswich a far from perfect themselves though, their last 2 seasons in Lg1 show operating losses of £14.4m in 21/22 and £21.8m last season, when they got promoted. A note in their accounts expect them to have increased losses when in the Championship.

So many times clubs appear to have won promotion with limited resources with it only becoming clear nearly 12 months later, that the club incurred massive losses to achieve it. Gallant little Bournemouth twice gained promotion on the back of eye watering losses, around £50m in 21/22. Even little Luton's costs last season were over twice their turnover.

  9. We are claiming that our goal difference is worth an extra point, but it's a lot closer than people think. For teams to catch us up on points, they'll have to win games and improve their goal difference whilst we lost or draw games. Assuming only 1 goal wins or defeats, then the difference to Bolton will be a maximum of 4 and Peterborough will be 5. However, you would expect at least one of those games to be by 2 or 3 goals, thus bringing the  difference in goal differences to almost zero.

I’m not for one second suggesting that I was anything other than a bog standard village footballer but I played all of my football at left back, despite being right footed.

Over time, you adapt and I could cross the ball, shoot or take free kicks with either foot. No excuses for those who play for a living.

I've said this for a long time, especially when the current footballers have been at professional clubs from a very early age. Surely they must have regular sessions only using their 'wrong' foot, from an early age.

However, I wonder if can you train a player to use his 'wrong' foot in an instinctive moment? I say this because I've seen Waggy score a good goal with his 'wrong' foot, but on that occasion, he had time to measure and concentrate on his shot. I also play to a very low level and can play the ball with my 'wrong' foot, but if the ball comes to me quickly, more often than not, it will be a swing and hope shot.

He’s dangerous enough in that sense. I love his desire but he’s a bit like an old Labrador now. Tongue out, enjoying his run, but getting nowhere quickly.

If the ball comes his way in the box and he has time, he will give it a whack but those chances that came his way at the start of the season are fairly rare.

His chances always seem to fall on his 'wrong' foot, many players seem to be quite useless on their 'wrong' foot. Last night a Belgian forward should have sealed the game in the dying minutes, on his own about 12 yards out and he skyed it over the bar. The commentator excused him by saying that it was on his 'wrong' foot and we're talking about a 'world class' player here, not a league 1 player.

CH has a sweet left foot but don't count on any chances on his right foot.

Message to Paul Warne "Please will you take Waghorn to see an optamologist to have his eyes tested before allowing him onto the football pitch again, and secondly on Monday morning or when the team are in for training Waghorn needs practice in shooting at goal because he couldnt hit a barn door at 10 yards.Hope he never gets to take a penalty

Very poor performance from everyone, I can't think of one player who shouldn't be disappointed with his own performance.

On the subject of Waggy, his recent awful finishes have both come quickly to him on his 'wrong' foot, I've seen him score with his wrong foot but they've been when he's had time to think about it. I wonder why modern footballers who are coached at the highest level from a very early age aren't coached to be comfortable with both feet, maybe it's not possible to coach a player to be instinctive with both feet?

I blame sky tv , it’s little wonder so many fans have lost the passion , joy and heartbreak of actually winning and losing games🤷‍♂️

VAR has destroyed the instantaneous joy of scoring a goal. A player in a suspiciously offside position leads me to glance at the lino and the ref whilst jumping around, however, if the same was to happen in a game with VAR, I wouldn't celebrate until the VAR check is over, but by then, the moment has passed.

It's sucking the joy out of live football.

We're possibly only 2 injuries away to key players from struggling to get results in 3 of the last 7, we'll struggle enough in them without getting some firepower back .  Tomorrow is a must win should that happen.

We'd have thought that in January, if you'd said that we'd have lost Nyambe, Bird and Collins to injury.

Hopefully, we've got the depth of strength and flexibility in the squad, to cope with a couple more injuries, especially with players returning from injury. 🤞

  15. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I finally made it to Krakow last year. I couldn't say that I 'enjoyed' the experience, but I found it fascinating and although I 'knew' all about the holocaust, actually being there added a new dimension.

The town itself is delightful and has so much more to it's history than just the holocaust. A trip down the salt mines is not to be missed either.

  16. Areas like Balsall Common and where I live are blighted by construction work on the HS2 for the next few years, local roads are forever being closed then moved or altered, plus dust blowing in from the construction can be a problem when we get a dry spell, so beware of this when selecting your location.

Personally, unless I was good friends with someone local, I would rent somewhere for a few months and get a feel for the area, before buying a property.
