Rample got a reaction from Colm in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Surprised when I saw this earlier.
David has probably weighed it up and doesn't feel Liam is capable of taking us up without play off drama at the very least. Can't say as I disagree - I like Liam, he speaks well, but there has been a disconnect this season - we should be settling and finding form but it's gone backwards - too many games lately we have played for 45 minutes at best and not been at the races the other half. Our defending (despite a just about acceptable record overall) and scoring has been woeful due to the tactics/system used and that stops with him as he has said himself.
Played 9, won 4, drawn 2, lost 3 is a right mixed bag of results, and despite being a championship team on paper we don't seem to be showing that in this division at present. You could definitely see someone with a bit more knowledge coming in, shaping them and getting a more convincing defensive line up, more effective supply chain, and Collins as he should be netting regularly.
I think Liam has probably just been offered his old job back for now, he is under contract for that so that's why we're not saying he's gone. I imagine he is weighing up his options as he seems pretty consciencious. Rare that anyone ever makes that back step though (Wassall obviously excepted) so I can't see him swallowing his pride and staying.
Might get a job opening soon, but more likely I can see him joining a backroom team such as Brighton again. Hudderfield and Cardiff seem a bit of a stretch given his experience.
As for Warne it's never boring is it. They've been a different division every year since he joined in 2016. Does seem to know how to get promoted, and might like the opportunity to work with a bit more if he thinks he can get us up, rather than losing his best players on Bosmans each year, he could build on them.
He does seem to know how to pick up strikers and bargains which he has going for him. His squad seems like a decent age and is overachieving for saying I've only heard of a handful of players. Not much of a record with youngsters but maybe that's Rotherham's academy not producing.
From his own mouth his defenders don't take risks, he doesn't play out from goal kicks, they just try to put crosses in and get the ball to a target man up front. They are physical and look to captalise on set pieces as often as possible. Maybe that's what we need. I do think the current personnel fits that ethos.

Think Rooney will be getting a lot closer to the first team after his performance in the cup cover for that maybe?

Rample got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Matchday Thread - Mansfield Town v Derby County (09/08 19:45)
Can't see this being a favourable result. As much as I dismiss non-league Nigel, the one thing he always seems to be able to do is get teams up for cup games.
Coupled with a likely weakened team I'm already fearing the worst.
I'd go with a strong line up. I'd like us to get back to winning ways, maybe get Collins and others on the score sheet.
I'd expect
Wildsmith
Oduroh, Stearman, Cashin, Forsyth
Smith, Bird, Thompson
Sibley, Collins, Dobbin
I'd go
Wildsmith
Knight, Davies, Cashin, Forsyth
Bird
Sibley, Hourihane
NML, Collins, Dobbin

Rample got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Renaldo Torraj on trial
Ex Spurs youngster on the bench for our U21s tonight.
18, current Albanian U19 international.
Supposedly a right back but I've seen him further forward.

He’ll be fine. I’d wait until you’ve seen him play before passing judgment

I wonder how soon before the club can send mcgoldrick out on loan for the season.
It's a waste of wages for someone who poses zero goal threat and at his age will not get better.
An injury prone player

Rample got a reaction from LazloW in No signings in 3 weeks, "nothing imminent"
Not hystrionics, just an observation.
Following LR's comments yesterday and a notable lack of movement (excluding Dobbin's loan on the back of 3 exits), despite an obvious need for a right back, and a few more bodies in general, what do we reckon?
If I wanted to be more conspiratorial - no expansion of the backroom staff, no new deal for LR, the delay in re-signing Forsyth, not signing Robertson, and Rooney still being on trial after a month. I'm sure these can all be explained away but they do add food for thought.

Rample reacted to TuffLuff in James Collins and the positional movements
Apologies as I couldn’t find Collins’ previous thread on here so started a new one. Please merge is necessary!
Anyway after watching Hourihane’s goal for the 178th time quite casually on Twitter, for the first time I spotted what Collins did and it’s importance. Just for all the naysayers out there really.
Anyway first phase is show in image one:
Collins sits neatly in between the two defenders although one isn’t on screen. As the ball gets passed to Hourihane and the defender directly in front of Collins’ moves to the ball, of which I don’t think he has a choice, what does Collins do?
As shown in image 2, Collins moves behind the second defender, meaning D2 has to stay wide and this leaves the gap for Hourihane to have a clear strike on goal. Simple movement as it’s effectively two steps left. Hourihane gets the plaudits but never under estimate how a good strikers positioning can impact a goal. Reckon we will see a lot of this over the season, many will whinge about his scoring stats if it’s he’s not banging them in every game but strikers play a valuable attacking role in many different ways

Rample reacted to Charlie George in Dean Mottram the original Rammie
Just read on of the DCFC FB pages that then original Rammie AKA Dean Mottram has passed away aged 55.

Rample reacted to Dave Mackay Ate My Hamster in The big reset.
Strangely, now we've been saved by St. David of Clowes, I'm really pleased, in the bigger picture, that we are now in Division 1.
Back to old school football. Back to being a big fish in a small pond.
We tried, under Mel to turn up at the casino that was the Championship with a big F off stack of chips to intimidate other players at the table. Spent fast and loose - and lost.
We needed a total reset and we got one. I can't lie, it's hurt. Being threatened with extinction was a very real prospect.
Now we've cleared the football cache and cookies, we're back to a fresh start.
I'm still haunted by the memory of all that money we wazzed up the wall. Even the least of the excesses was Anya. £4m and and £20k a week over 4 years, ergo £8m over 4 years. There were 4 or 5 others that cost £10m+ in transfer fees and salaries over 4 year contracts.
£60m minimum wazzed up the wall on 5 or 6 players, not to mention our merry go round of managers that resulted in the amount of debt that threatened our very existence. Covid didn't help, but the aforementioned was the real problem.
Certain individuals that had Mel's ear and were administrators at our club were also abusing their parallel self-interests as agents to sell us pup after pup.
Now we're back to football reality. It's amazing what team we've managed to piece together on frees and modest wages.
Loving our new reality. We can attract decent players at this level, where if we spend within our means, which is significantly above most of our competitors, we can perform well at this level.
If we continue in this manner, we can grow organically.
What's not to love? A fantastic academy that should finance our rebirth. 30,000+ crowds, that again should finance our rebirth and perversely the EFL reining us back to a financial plan that we absolutely NEEDED. Didn't want, but definitely needed.
Oh and being rescued by the 'quiet man of football' - DC.
What a time to be alive! I'm falling back in love with football again.
The only way is up...

Rample reacted to Bris Vegas in Potential loans
It was a poor way oh phrasing it. Highlighting his struggles in a league below yet suggesting him as a plausible option for Derby. As you say, stupid.
Should have gone a long the lines of…
Brad Young – Aston Villa
Aston Villa’s Brad Young has the speed and physical attributes to be an issue in the Football League.
While Young didn’t make the desired impact during a loan spell at Carlisle United last term, the improving striker’s record for Villa’s U18s and U23s proves he knows where the goal is and Rosenior is well-versed in getting the best out of youngsters. A successful spell with Derby County would undoubtedly benefit all parties involved.

Rample reacted to jimtastic56 in Hourihane
I saw him captain Barnsley and could not get over how much he barked out instructions to other players. I noticed after he scored on Saturday he started giving the orders out. A good thing , I think , a captain without the armband.
