Sorry if i missed it but I couldn’t see a thread for her. She used to referee our clubs games , girls teams. She was always very pleasant. I’ve ben at the WSL Arsenal v Liverpool game today and they had a minutes silence for her, impeccable and sombre as it was so quiet. Was quite sad if i am honest.

If you take a life, what are you?  Alright, killers then.  I am not judging by using those words, it is what it is.  Killing in the name of some power that be is not less of a killing.  I understand men were conscripted, forced to bear arms and I find that criminal, the state acting as if human beings are their property and leaving them with scars that won't heal and a conscious that accuses.

I mean by definition we all feel that our own views, or those that agree with our opinions, are the correct and balanced ones. That's why those are our views in the first place.  From my perspective you've got two feet planted firmly in the Israeli camp. But again, that's just my perspective, it might be me that's the biased one.

    Oof! 😲
Another big name, and another personality that I can directly relate to, and have direct memories of, and recall incidents of.
There used to be a time when all the top names dying off were just that... names.  Folk I'd heard of, or read about. Maybe caught a glimpse of them in an old movie, or saw them on a WC TV panel every 4 years.
Now they all seem to be folk that have actually taken part in my life, however distant.  Real people.  Minute parts of my own real life memories, however brief, however minute.
FFS... If this is what getting old is about... etc, etc...

    RIP, Mr Venables.
And thanks for that wonderfully unforgettable 4-1 win over Holland.  'Twas a sheer delight, sir.

Another one my old mum introduced. I think she fancied Jim, by the way she used to carry on about him, but he was a bit of a sex god I suppose and the music ain't bad either.

Id happily have Maguire in this team, also Chilwell, Sterling, Maddison, Palmer, Grealish and Rashford at his best (he was excellent against Italy poor the other night as many others were)

    A ramit rant
The hard truth is that people are pawns because they allow themselves to be.  The victim is not innocent of being victimized is another way to put it and just writing that will have some up in arms in outrage, but it is true none the less.  We choose to submit to power, we allow governments to treat us like property to do with as they please and when they do we place the blame on them, when it is really our own fault, for we have the true power when we stand together, we get our way when we unite and take collective responsibility for the planet we share and how it is governed.
But here lies the problem, we collectively avoid responsibility, it is convenient for us to have someone else than ourselves to blame, politicians, industrialists, media, generals.  We either change ourselves or continue to moan about the state of the world as we repeatedly fall for the divide and rule methods placed against us.  With all our problems of division, we still have much more in common than divides us.
Imagine if war is declared and no one shows up.

I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

Sure, but it does impact on the speed at which we can reach our potential, particularly when you take into account the restrictions imposed by the EFL that we were required to accept in order to be released from the stringent sanctions that applied during Administration. Some fans don't seem to have grasped that "speculating to accumulate" isn't either feasible of sensible for DCFC at this time. There's a discussion on another thread about what Alfie May was looking for as personal terms and that would have taken us back down the road of the Mel Morris years. Last season we still had a restriction on the length of contract we could offer, which was a big turn-off for younger players looking for 3-4 years of security, which is why we were generally shopping in the veteran's market. This inevitably meant wages at the upper limit of what the EFL allowed. Over time, I expect the age profile of the squad to reduce (it already has), and the signings of Wilson, Fornah and Weston should be a sign of things to come.
I'm not surprised at the impatience of some fans for an early reversal of our fortunes, but I don't think it's either helpful or realistic.

And there in lies the issue with a proportion of deluded Derby fans....
Less than 18 months from going under, working to a tight business plan to demonstrate we won't make the same mistakes, so let's just spend a million to strengthen the team..........

Today, we remember ALL war dead. Russians, Vietnamese, Japanese, Germans, Israelis and perhaps most importantly today the 160 Palestinian children being killed every single day since October 7th.
I wish the peace marchers well this afternoon. I have no time for those who may choose to hijack their purpose.

Happy to report that both my wife and big sister arrived home safe and unharmed from their voluntary stint on the Poppy Stall in Derbion on Tuesday!
What is the world coming to?
Alleged attacks on a 78 year old volunteer in Edinburgh.
Poppy sellers "feeling nervous" being surrounded by mobs of "Protesters" at Charring Cross.
The Rochdale Cenotaph being daubed with "Political Graffiti".
The sanctity of The London Cenotaph at high risk for this coming weekend.
I get some don't agree with what The Poppy symbolises and represents.  I get that.  Each to their own.  But to actively go out of their way to threaten Poppy Sellers (All of whom are volunteers, and many of whom are "elderly") and/or wearers, is the scummiest of the scum in my book.
I'll be adding extra pride to my stance at 11am at The NMA on Sunday, after doing similar at The Camp Bastion Wall Memorial, as we mark our remembrance and respect to one known fallen hero in particular, on our son's behalf (as he's away clearing landmines in Ukraine, so can't attend in person).
I'll be arriving earlier than usual for the match tomorrow, to join in the (assumed?) pre-KO remembrance.
And I'll be wearing my nice new shiny 2023 lapel poppy alongside a few older ones over the coming days... f*** em, I say!

Being a country bumpkin, we used cow turnips nicked from the nearest field where they were growing, (I'd never seen a pumpkin as a kid).
The feckers took hours to carve as they're as hard as concrete. Also had the added 'bonus' of several cut fingers from blunt pen-knife misshaps!

Not sure about that , when I was a kid Halloween was massive with Scottish families , we did the visit houses for sweets thing but it wasn’t called trick or treating, we were having this debate with a few friends and the English mates seemed to think it was a recent American import but an Irish friend said it was massive with the Irish too when he was a kid , we are in our sixties so we are talking 50 odd years ago

Yes, but can't you see that it's the system that leads to this sort of ownership. Derby, Reading, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday - it doesn't really matter which club, the game of football is not sustainable for the majority of clubs in its current form.
We have had a recent administration and a new owner in place for fifteen months and some are already calling for him to spend money the club hasn't got, chasing success. Or sell.

Seeing truly horrific images from Gaza, way too graphic to post here, entire neighborhoods demolished, residents frantically digging through the rubble in search of survivors, children if they survived intensely traumatized.  War they call this?  Meanwhile my government abstained from voting for a ceasefire at UN because Hamas wasn't properly vilified.  I deplore western politics, we are the evil empire.

I understand that when the football isn’t pretty, and the league position is dire, football fans will inevitably lash out. However, I am amazed that there are a good number on here tonight slating our owner. This is a staggering state of affairs even for our club, only some 15 months since he saved us.  Cool it down lads.
