I think it would make sense to wait and see what happens with Knight and Bielik. No point buying bargain basement players now when we could potentially pay a little for quality later in the window.

Thought I'd share this, only an opinion piece/suggestion from FLW, Mendes-Gomes who was on loan from Luton at Fleetwood last year possibly available. Scored against us in a game that we've probably all tried to blank from our memories. Not sure where he'd fit if we were going with wingbacks next year but seems a good player

    Slight differences
we were under an embargo and heavy restrictions last season so were severely hamstrung on what we could offer… common sense suggests that if we didnt land our limited range of targets it was due to financial constraints as much as anything.
January is also notoriously difficult window to deal in, warne said that, every manager says that. He also said that “one of the targets had gone back into his clubs first team picuture … which is a shame, cos hes a good player”
But obviously u keep bashing warne and fitting whatever story around your agenda against him
    Can i ask u a question?
would u rather warne went out and with a scatter gun appoach and buy 7-8 players straight off the bat to plump up the squad and appease the moaning minority that want transfers now.
or would rather he took his time and got players that are the right fit for the club and will represent good value, some of whom might not be available yet??
this isnt championship manager u know….theres no “oh that didnt work ill flog that group of players off in the january and bring in a load of cheap Norwegian superkid regens”

Anag Ram reacted to Ambitious in Jason Knight - joined Bristol City
Bristol is a great city and City are the dominant side there - they have decent potential. I can see why Knight would be open to a move there. They have a relatively low turnover for a championship side (£16.5m) whereas ours all ranged roughly £30m in our most recent published accounts - there’s a good chance our revenue in league one is higher than there’s in the championship- obviously they’re doing ok with player sales to inflate that budget and their chairman is happy to plug the big losses every year.
Derby have a lot of work to do before they get up to Bristol City again, as we know our current owner can’t afford to take the losses of the Bristol owner can so financially at best for us, it’s a level playing field. Knight probably gets a contract he wants with us IF we get promoted, but Bristol can give it him now.
In terms of wage bills, ours sat below £8m last season and Bristol City’s was £26m - down from £30m the year before. A little over three times what we’re paying out at the moment. If you’re a player and an agent then you take that into consideration. Yes, now the restrictions are lifted and following promotion, the landscape will be very different - I do struggle to see us spending anywhere near £30m on wages under this ownership model though. A takeover or outside investment would need to happen for that.

I absolutely loved Succession. I agree that there were some dips in the last series, but there was also some stuff which was superb. One episode in particular was so good, I barely breathed!
I’ll miss the characters and the standard of writing. If you love witty series and you want to learn some fantastic put downs, this is the series for you.

It’s not Paul Warne or the club’s job to manage our anxieties. People should be able to look at the information that is out there, listen to interviews like the one from the end of the season and this one today, and apply some common sense to the fact the business and sporting institution that is Derby County needs signings in order to compete this season. Therefore trust the people who own and work within that business will know that too, and will be working on it.

For the millionth time… Just because we haven’t announced a signing yet doesn’t mean we aren’t working on some.

I’m afraid I have side with @Jimbo Ram rather than these ITK fantasists.
For the record I know all five, but I can only offer that they’ll be outfield players, or possibly goalkeepers, and I will confirm whether they are correct just after they are announced.

Fairly sure it's into the last season now.
If we get 2.5-3 million for Knight. I'd be going for Brannagan.

Not sure Bazball will work against the accuracy of Hazelwood and Boland.
Nor whether England’s old men can bowl Australia out (think Robinson will take more wickets).
But readers on here will know I know nothing 😎

Looking forward to heading down to Birmingham on Saturday, hopefully we're batting and my arms ache from all the boundary celebrations.

He’s a good footballer. He’s determined, mobile and positive and doesn’t panic in possession. Sure, he’s not the best in attack but you’ve got a good player.

We finally finished Succession and sad there'll not be another one. But probably the best decision if it wants to retain it's all-time classic status.
Season 4 felt more up and down than previous seasons, but still very, very good, with some sparkling scriptwriting/dialogue and consistently great acting.
We will now go back to watch the fourth and final (for now, not sure if they are making more) season of the brilliant Fauda on Netflix.
I've mentioned this several times already, but I'll risk being boring because it's nudging Gomorrah and Spiral for me as the best subtitled foreign production I have seen.

One of those 'inspired by abc which was itself inspired by xyz" films. It almost has an air of Ealing Cinema about it, yet it was only released last year.
A bureaucrat learns that he is suffering from a terminal illness, and basically... well, no spoilers from me other than to say that I feel that the film has had quite an effect on me emotionally - or there's quite a bit of dust in here.
