  1. Citeh. Manure. Florist. Direby. Or any other corruption of a clubs name. Usually found on Twitter and Internet Fora.

Written by grown men (I presume) who, for some unfathomable reason, must think this is funny, "banter", perhaps even clever.

Also, the slight variant of inserting asterisks, as though the mere name of the club is swearing. E.g. N********m F****t.

Forget how stupid this makes one look, it takes about 5 times as long making sure there are the correct number of asterisks as if you just typed the proper name out, so stop it.

I love being a neutral in these situations. I always root for the British team in European games. But when they lose, I can easily switch to ‘ha ha’ mode, without any qualms or regrets.

I’ll definitely be rooting for Liverpool in the final, but if they lose, I definitely won’t be crying into my corn flakes. But I might be laughing at all the scousers who will be.

Yeah I never understood the cheer for the British team thing. Seems like a relic from the 1960's or 70's when British clubs generally had only British and Irish players in them sticking it to Johnny Foreigner. I can see how that might be attractive to some people, but even if that was the case now, I can't see myself wanting the British club to do well.

'Cheer' (not literally, who really cares which Petrostate wins?) for the side the furthest away from Derby is my method.

  3. Has anyone been to Manchester airport recently? How were the queues? Media hype or was it real squeaky bum time making it to your gate?

We travel on Saturday morning from Terminal 3.

  4. Anatomy of a Scandal. Limited series on Netflix. The dialogue is incredibly stilted and the flashbacks are frequent and annoyingly shot. Which is a shame because the acting is decent and the story has promise.

At least it's bought some time for a few episodes of the final series of Better Call Saul to be released.

  5. To pinpoint a moment...

Sibley's 92nd minute winner at home to Peterbrough. Bodies.

Don't think it felt as close as that again to be honest.

Curtis' header against Reading a close second for me because I wasn't there.

  6. With due respect to Oldham, being a "founder member of the Premiership" (is that a thing?) don't mean owt. They're a third tier club for most of their history who just happened to secure their second promotion to the top flight in 100 years the same season the "big 5" forced the breakaway from the FL.

Sure, they're having a tough time to be in non-league and that's somewhat below their natural level but we're not really comparable as clubs, dodgy owners aside.

  7. Average house prices now are about 8 times higher than average annual earnings. (£250k vs £30k). It was between 4 and 6 times for most of the time after WW2 until the mid 00's. But of course women either didn't work (or do paid work as they like to say) or were part time for much of that period.

You have to go back to the late 1800's to find such a disparity as what we have now (brief period before 2007 crash apart).

New, modern city centre flats available to buy for first time buyers only and a certain percentage available to renters via the local authority, with strict controls on minimum standards would be my way of attempting to address the problem.

And I'd make it illegal for someone to own more than one house if I could sneak it past the opposition.

Go back on , some people hold tickets for 20 minutes and then release them.

Yep do this - always, always some come back available.

If say a group of 4 are going and they're all in the fastest finger contest online, 3 people potentially put tickets in their basket that they then don't buy because the 4th person bought them for them all.

Just keep refreshing. I got 2 tickets for the Fulham play off away leg under Rowett about an hour and a half after the initial "sold out" rush had subsided.
