How is that the managers fault?

He’s picking the wrong team for a start.  Barkhuizen and Fornah both need to start. Then he needs to set us up so we can actually play the ball through the midfield instead of putting everything long or wide. Hourihane sitting that deep makes no sense. Aerial crosses to Cashin, Nelson, whomever, at set pieces are fine. Crosses in open play are - with our front line - largely a waste of time.
Amazing to hear our manager describe today’s result at home against Wycombe as ‘a well-earned point’.

Why would you watch his interview to decide whether it was a penalty or not?

I'd prefer to watch the footage myself, which confirms what I thought at the time, the player was on his way to the floor before Ward was even close to him.

I didnt .. i already said what i thought, this just validated it

he probably was, im not saying it wasnt soft, Tb says ward clipped him? What else do u need to know ?
if it wasnt u think there wouldnt be a bit more moaning coming out of the manager and players ?

Yes she was really poor, as poor as the usual tripe we get. Way below the standards she set when she’s previously reffed us. Been on here saying she was the best ref we had last season.

She dished out 6 yellow cards in the first half hour!! And it wasn’t a dirty game! There’s no going back from that. The Sibley one was a joke. The NML wasn’t a yellow in my view, strikers tackle if you give one like that you give it later in the game not so early. She didn’t need to give the yellows to leahy and Collo, she didn’t give yellows twice in first half to Wycombe players when she should’ve done for bad tackles, once when she played advantage (rightly despite the boos) and should’ve gone back to book the Wycombe player. Bird Hourihane decisions spot on, penalty is a debatable one, soft decision but down to interpretation so some blame there but not much, and then what about where she accidentally blocked the Derby attack and gave Wycombe the f****** ball on the restart!! 🤬

The really big calls she might have got just about right but her management of the game was hopeless!!

Nml one was as blatent a yellow card as youll ever get 😂😂

rams tv were like … aaaaand he’ll go into the book for that no question .. 2 seconds later yellow card

nearly took the lads shin off lol

Just taking time off from the journey from Antigua to St Kitts to say hello...

Had us down for a scruffy 1-0 today as I believe recent results have been far better than some performances deserved.

Watched Lincoln on the in cabin TV. Hope they pick up the pace a bit on Thursday. The stuff about the 13th amendment went on and on.....😉

He would be right when u look at how badly we played…. But at home to Wycombe should be a banker three pointer…

Point is that good ref normally lets things go a bit earlier in a game unless it’s something really bad.

If u disagree and want to argue then so be it 👍😎

So, you wanted her to let things go.

Fair enough.

Do you actually know anything about football.

I’ve only been watching Derby for 50 years, so I too don’t know much about football But I do know that the changes midway through the second half simply invited Wycombe onto us, and the defence looked all over the place, as if they didn’t know what they were suppose to be doing. They ought to be used to it by now because Warne always messes with our back line regardless of whether we are winning or not.

There was really minimal contact from the angle I saw, their player just made a meal of it. NML lunged so gave the opportunity to book him though.

Hourihane was a clear yellow,  Bird was ridiculous, it was like he pulled him several times to make sure he got the yellow.

Collins was unlucky- quiet word with both would have sufficed.

Sibley - I just didn't understand.  Wycombe weren't trying to take a quick free kick,  he wasn't slowing the game down. He could have lifted his leg and let the ball go past him and miles into touch the other side of the pitch, made no difference. Really didn't merit a yellow and set the tone.

Some really soft decisions in general that mostly seemed to go against us. John Jules made a challenge at the back post that was penalised for absolutely nothing.

Taylor was walking and she almost escorted him all the way off the pitch and it looked really awkward.

Not seen a good enough angle of the penalty to know for sure, but it was soft and I think you probably seem them as 50-50 decisions.

All told though. Poor performance that we need to rectify ASAP.

Not based on most of the decisions/non decisions we’ve seen this season and not as bad as the two Wycombe ones that went unpunished, he was stretching due to a bad touch but didn’t go into the tackle with any real velocity, letter of the law yellow but common sense not to give it in first 15 mins of the game. It wasn’t as bad as the Hourihane one (although I don’t think that was a red contrary to what some are saying). Even allowing NML she didn’t need to give the Sibs Collo and Leahy ones, if that first half hour had been NML Bird Hourihane in the book plus the two bad Wycombe ones she didn’t punish the ref would’ve been about right.

Your point was she reffed the game well, fair enough that’s your opinion. I thought the ref was poor setting the tone with the ridiculous Sibley yellow, ending with bottling a Vokes sending off (which the ref created giving him the same nonsensical yellow as Sibs) and the extremely soft penalty. If this ref is the best then we’re doomed.

The ref along with Wycombe antics spoiled the game,we weren’t good enough yesterday to try and overcome it, type of game you try and just get out of with a 1-0 which unfortunately we couldn’t quite manage. Hopefully we can be back on it for Lincoln

My take on the Bradley sub...

Just prior to it, we'd switched to 3 at the back, with (L-R) Forsyth, Nelson and Cashin. That put Cashin on the wrong side, and I'm not sure Nelson is comfortable in the middle of the three. In order to get round pegs/round holes in the defence, he swaps Forsyth for Bradley (who is more happy in the middle of a 3), which also allowed Cashin and Nelson to swap to their preferred sides.

It struck me as a defensive tidy up after a formation change.

Blowing the whistle directly after they score the pen? Surely some more time needed adding on for that?! Topped off one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen here recently.

Gutted.

I have git say having watched probably watched well over 1500 professional football matches and played in over 100 non-league games to a reasonable standard, it was the worst one i have ever seen.

Her only control was to resort to a card, always the sign of a poor referee, and can't understand why she could not see what 25000 people in the cround could see.

When you see players high 5ing when 30 seconds before they were rolling around like they had been shot.

Frustrating, nobody had a good game , including the ref, she's been decent before so I’m going to put it down to a bad day as she seemed to get carried along with the game rather than be on top of it ,

wycombe were horrible sneaky , niggly out to frustrate desperate for something from the game and to be honest they got it , the rush of early yellows put us on a tightrope where we really couldn’t give it back or impose ourselves in midfield , collective poor performance but we should have nicked the win , move on to the next game which is big in my view ( probably all are now 🤷🏻‍♂️) , a win and we are still right in the mix

The change? Presumably to push Wilson and Ward further up as wing backs.

The tidy up? To make sure the 3 CBs were in their preferred positions.

I don't agree with the change personally (I think we look all over the place when we play 3 at the back), but it seems pretty obvious what Warne was thinking.
