The 13s beat Palace 4-1. I didn’t watch all of the game but from what I saw, the 13s were good.

The 14s won. They beat Crewe 1-0 - should have beat them by more but couldn’t finish.

Some very good boys in both teams and a few to keep an eye on.

I assume they'll disappear to premier league academies in line with our category A come and create your pick'n'mix feeder club status this 6 million a year expenditure gets us.

Proof we're spending £6m a year?

Average cat a academy was 2.5-4.9 in 2020.  Sunderland was an estimated 10 million in 2020.

You clearly have no feckin sight if you can't see the obvious that we've made a few measly million of players since this Cat A was introduced and actually held on to the better players and had them in the first team for a while when they were under the radar.

Surely one of the most baffling decisions made by Pat Lyons in recent times.

To offer 22 yr old Connor Dixon a 1 year extension, while simultaneously releasing 22 yr old Isaac Hutchinson at the same time was just a ludicrously inept football decision.

Hard to say without inside knowledge. I'd be surprised if Hutchinson would've accepted. He clearly wanted first team football.

Darren Wassall would have had the final say on all contract offers from u21 all the way down to scholar.

Have to expect Lyons to be gone by the start of the season too… maybe with a few other too.

I wonder if he’ll be the next to break through as a regular feature in the squad?

Most of the U21s will be expecting a taste of first team football this season.

From first team and the U21s, I'm expecting Rooney, Tommo and Nunn to go out on loan. Potentially Evans too.

For their personal development, Evans (if not loaned out), Cox, DRobinson, Hawkins, Moloney, Richards, Davidson, DBrown and Wheeldon should all get some minutes in one of the for competitions we'll be playing in next season. Not many would be ready for regular first team football, but the odd game or a few minutes at the end of games is still important.

Yes he’s signed a deal. 2nd years moving to u21s on new deals are Richards, Moore, Moloney, Fapetu along with Robinson and Evans who have been pros for a season now.

Do we think Carlos Richards will sign on? That's not been announced either. Very key we keep him as I've always been impressed watching him

Yes he’s signed a deal along with Moore, Moloney and Fapetu who join Robinson and Evans who have signed pro deals at the start of last season.

The only U21 in contract talks was Jack Bates, the rest were all released apart from Kido Taylor-Hart and Billy Vigar, who were both on loan from Arsenal.

Be interesting to see if any or all of that trio are part of our U21 squad next season.

Jack Bates has signed as well. I don’t think the Arsenal lads brought enough personally. Talented enough but not PW type of player.
