Will do some digging to see where this quote is taken from but it sounds as though Warne has one new player due in next week.

About 7 and a half mins into the pre match interview he starts talking about 2 likely signings, 1 sounds like it’s done but no names

You can just change ownership to avoid punishment. That would be so incredibly exploitative. It's a tough one, but really there isn't any other way to do it.

That’s more than obvious that isn’t the case though, don’t think it would be that hard to write the laws to avoid teams doing that.

Could be wrong here, but aren’t there rules about new owners getting more grace on their spending for a period when it comes to FFP, or has that been changed?

None of these can play centre forward to be honest.  Dobbin will miss 3 chances in 4, NML is close control and beating a player and Barkhuizen has played a few up top for Preston and has said he hasn't the build for it and was rubbish.  We really need a striker with quick feet as an option.  Two would be better.

You're right - a striker with two feet is preferable to one with just the one.

That’s my point, we need a striking option to complement Collins and McGoldrick, giving us 3 strikers. If that person was able to play out wide as well, that’s good too.

Barkhuizen, NML and Dobbin then cover the wide areas with the new player as an option and Sibley/Knight in desperate times. I only suggested those 3 could be called upon as emergency cover up front if desperately needed as they all have some elements in their play that means they would be able to give it a go; Barkhuizen wouldn’t be a first choice striker but his touch, movement and finishing mean he could do a job. NML and Dobbin have pace so would provide an option running in behind or stretching the defence. Yes they may all miss chances but say Dobbin scored that 4th attempt (as he did the other week) and it led to 3 points (like it did the other week) then they’d be doing a job for the team.

The cover, cohesion and balance in all other areas of the pitch seems to be working, unless there was a specialist right back of decent enough quality to improve upon Smith.

So back to my original point, I think if we brought in another forward option and nothing else we would be ok.

It’s from an interview with Leigh Curtis from the Derby Telegraph

Warne knows , we are all watching Sky news 24/7 for some news . It may not be a 6’3” French striker that runs 10 miles a game. But we are desperate for a bit of Exitement.

Mbappé isn’t 6’ 3’’ so I suppose he will just have to do  ???????

If we are now a centre forward short how about - on loan a certain Chris Martin on a reduced wage obviously as Bristol city want him out of the place - we know he can’t run but he can play to the strengths of the others we have and remember it’s the third division we are in. He could just make a real difference to help collins and Mc Goldrick

Made it to page 26 before the Chris Martin suggested popped up, if I was still regularly posting it would have been on page 1

Standards are slipping here, very sad to see.

FWIW CM9 would be a brilliant signing in this division. He never had any pace to lose, but he was an expert at winning free-kicks, had a great first touch and knew how to score a goal. I assume he was injured though as he's not even been on the Bristol bench?

He always had issues with very physical centre backs. There are lots in this league.  He'd have to play in a two and that two would need to be a right rough s******** to help him physically.
