We got a point for the draw. They got a bonus point for winning the penalty shootout. Rev, Premier ram, Foreveram and 1 other 3
May Contain Nuts
19 minutes ago, Foreveram said: Because that’s a knockout competition, this is a league format. It’s not difficult, if we lost it means Mansfield won, if Mansfield won why didn’t they get 3 points. we drew, Mansfield got a bonus point for winning the shootout as per the competition rules. This is a round robin format leading to a knockout competition, not purely one or the other. Mansfield drew the game but won the tie. There are separate rewards for each, that's the format. The format defies the standard logic you have in your head about winning, losing and drawing, that's the problem and that's why I mentioned away goals, because they too defy logic - if there's a draw in a knockout competition then the way to settle it is pretty much always penalties, so why the away goals rule? The prize for winning a knockout game is to go through to the next round. It's not difficult - if you haven't lost why have you been knocked out? As an example of a competition where you can get points for losing - In the local pub darts league it's a best of 5 format, but whatever happens all 5 games are played - you can lose 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2. You don't get any points for the 5-0 but you do get points for claiming a couple of legs and losing 3-2. Scott129
We're spoiled with how good this forum is compared to some of the others around in the EFL, but Port Vale have quite a nicely-designed one. Award-winning, apparently. Their match thread is here. Carl Sagan and angieram 1

That sort of thing always reminds me of when we had world-record holder Rory Delap at fullback but Jim Smith inexplicably refused to let him use the incredible weapon of his throw-ins, and we always took them short. When he went to Stoke, Rory's missiles would end up terrorizing the Premier League, with opponents not daring to kick the ball out against Stoke as his throw-ins were so dangerous. Madness! i-Ram
Sorry to hear you were kicked off @archram by a glory merchant. I know it was your long term desire to start a matchday thread, and you were doing an excellent job. Cruel, cruel way to treat one of our female Octogenerian Rams. archram, Day, Dordogne-Ram and 4 others 3 2

Leeds Ram
Got a ticket for this but am travelling from Leeds so it's all up to the trains whether i can actually make it or not. I watched them in the playoffs last year and they looked handy but hardly a team we shouldn't be putting away at home.
