Didn't we also need to create 100* chances under Rosenior to score goals, just as we have needed to do under Warne?

We've not been clinical enough and the small squad looked tired at times as the season progressed.  I personally think the biggest hurdle  we faced was the EFLs financial restrictions, other clubs around us strengthened during the Winter transfer window whereas we couldn't bring anyone in - ultimately leaving us short.

*maybe a slight exaggeration, although didn't feel like it at times 😛

And, unless restrictions are removed, it will be the same 23/24.  This was always going to be a tough year from where we were.

The middle of the season was magical, but the start and finish have been today in a nutshell - refereeing decisions and mistakes, alongside missing chances leaving us short. Today was the season in one game.

In September I was given all in the picture below, I was told That there's an engine there if you can sort it all out.

Having tried my best with what I was given I came up short, Next year I will go out and source my own parts as I know what I want, And confident the engine will be sound and tough to beat 👍

Sounds a bit of a failure to me 🤣 the previous mechanic would have sorted it 😁

Unfortunately Jimbo the previous mechanic was too slow in his build up and the owner of the garage said he's had enough, Especially when driving to away games and breaking down after 90mins 😉

But key positions are more often than not determined by direct results against your rivals.

Look at City and Arsenal.

City 82

Arsenal 78

Flip the two results around and you have Arsenal on 84 and City on 76.

We have missed out on the playoffs because our results against those around us haven’t been good enough.

It’s a nonsense and you know it. If we’d lost the same games against the top sides but gathered more points against the “lesser” teams we’d be in the playoffs or further up the table.

Your Arsenal and Man City example illustrates that too, if Arsenal lose the title to City it will be because of games like their draw with Southampton, not the City result.
The whole season counts, against all teams in a league, regardless of whether you’re fighting at the top, middle or bottom of the table.

I’m not a fan so far. Too much territory based football, too defensive at home. Players out of position (not all forced). Form players being left on the bench.

I am hoping next year with his own squad we will be more of a team that suits Warnes style of play. But I fear it will be a variant of hoof ball. 🙁

Let’s be honest, Clowes can’t admit it due to being the owner, but if someone asked him in private without any chance of it getting out. Im certain he’s angry that we haven’t made top 6.

league 1 specialist bought in when we were 7th. Finished 7th. That’s p1ss poor.

You’ve clearly never met David Clowes.

I guess many are disappointed and pointing fingers at Warne as we came so close.  But at the end of the day we did what we did with a pretty much cobbled together side.  Pretty sure without Didzy's goals our season would've been over weeks ago.

As for next season, who knows. I do think we'll be up there again, with a chance but only when the EFL's shackles are off can we really focus on moving forward.

Thought experiment: imagine Warne is pushed or jumps ship over the summer after only a part season. That would leave us with one of the all-time 'what ifs', especially if his replacement struggles.

This demand for immediate results is exactly what got Derby in the s*** in the first place.

We need to hold our nerve and not sound like a load of little girls.

Wrong.
I think we were 11th when PW took over (although we did have a game in hand over some clubs above us).

Rosenior’s football was more effective as we took more points against the same opposition. And we looked pretty decent as well.

😂

Barnsley we were lucky to win, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood we were toothless, and Lincoln we were atrocious. I was patient with Rosenior because he was bedding in the squad, but we only looked pretty decent in maybe two games over 90 minutes.

Exactly, EXACTLY - I don't know if it's just a refection on modern life that people are growing up so entitled they are completely unable to deal with adversity but it's quite something to see. Life doesn't always go your way, I suspect that some of the people describing the season as an 'epic failure' or that Clowes would be 'angry' about the season need to watch some self help vidoes.
