StaffsRam
Very poor first half. A bit lethargic, a bit lax, a good yard off Stevenage at every turn. A deserved lead for the home team at HT. hopefully a better second half to come. A cold reality check at the moment. Crewton
Not fluid so far tonight (no pun intended), too many sloppy passes and too much space between lines. Stevenage doing well tbf. This is a very useful workout though and good practice for much of what we'll face in L1.

Magicman
Poor first half - Hourihane struggling in the 'bird 'role . Our forward players are doing nothing and no shots yet . We clearly miss energy and the passing play here. Get some fresh legs & ideas or its over. Jimbo Ram and mwram1973

Big Trav
Shows to me that Hourihane is not a deep midfielder, he needs to be further up with smith/bird/bielik covering for him. Sibley on the wing is a waste (we all knew it). Collins isn’t really getting much service. We definitely need a good 5-7 more new faces in the squad but other than that it’s a good run around for them in pre season and an experiment that hasn’t worked quite to plan DCFC1388, Carl Sagan, 48 hours and 4 others 2 1

I know but my point is Stevenage have also put a new squad together but look far more fluid than we do. No need to panic though. It’s only a friendly. Black ('n' White) Sheep
Definitely missing Bird in that holding role. The midfield is just looking a tad lightweight tonight. Wouldn't mind seeing Knight, Bird and Hourihane in a 3 with Max sitting and the other 2 pushing on... might get a bit more service into Collins that way too. angieram and Magicman 1

Animal is a Ram
They also beat WBA a few days ago. Chances are they're ahead of us in pre-season terms (who isn't?) Let's not panic. angieram, Crewton and Caerphilly Ram 1

EulogyForEvolution
This will be a great workout. Much more akin to the kind of football we'll be facing in League One. We'll need to work out how to grind out wins at places like this. Let's see if we can make the adjustments in the second half. Thompson is looking a bit light weight so far. We miss Bird and Bielik when they aren't sitting deep.

Animal is a Ram
Stearman on for Davies, Stretton on for Collins, Bird on for Hourihane, Diallo on for NML. All like for like, no change in system. Edited July 19, 2022 by Animal is a Ram
