RoyMac5
https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/Derby-county-administrators-set-crunch-162356594.html "Quantuma, the business advisory firm, will meet with EFL chief executive Trevor Birch and attempt to clarify issues delaying the sale of the financially stricken Championship club. Derby are seeking answers on whether Middlesbrough and Wycombe are deemed to be “football creditors” in the event of the two clubs winning compensation claims, or if they are only entitled to a minimum 25p in a pound as per insolvency rules. Middlesbrough and Wycombe could be owed millions if their claims are successful, and the new owner of Derby will have to meet those liabilities." Given their previous intervention (trying to force their way onto the appeal against us) was mostly about the stadium sale, it's reasonable assumption that this is what they're still moaning about. We've been completely cleared of that. And even if it's a different issue, the EFL rules are very clear that only the EFL can open disciplinary cases, so there's no standing for them to accuse of us of doing something else. The compensation they want for lost income *is* the additional punishment. What else could it be? The power to award a sum of money as punishment is one that the appeal panel had, and chose not to use in this case. But you are speculating right and you haven’t seen their claim? Surely they’re not pursuing us for compensation because a panel found us not guilty of certain things and didn’t punish us harshly enough. Neither of those potential failings are against Derby. EFL have already made their position abundantly clear so why the necessity to go back and "clarify" what is already public knowledge. Surely they’re not perusing us for compensation because a panel found us not guilty of certain things and didn’t punish us harshly enough. Neither of those potential failings are against Derby. I haven’t seen anything outside of their public statements, and the written reasons from their attempt to appeal our initial disciplinary panel hearing. Those written reasons were very clear that ‘Boro also wanted to appeal charge 1 (the sale of Pride Park) as well as get in on the appeal of charge 2 (the amortisation). Their statement from last week stated that they are claiming for other reasons as well the amortisation, so it’s most likely the stadium. I find it hard to believe that there’s something else buried in the accounts that literally nobody else has spotted in 5+ years of heavy scrutiny.
