I went to Download this summer and really struggled with the heat overall. Think it topped out at 30deg.

City Hall Sheffield, 1978 or 1979 at a guess? cstand

Must have lost a few kilos sweating and I’m sure my hearing will come back sometime today, ended up right at the front.

Poynton ram
Just bought tickets for The Slow Readers at the Devils Arse, fantastic venue. Seeing New Order too in August at Wythenshawe Park and can’t wait. Odds on an Oasis reunion next year?
Steve Buckley’s Dog
Got Jane Weaver at the Rescue Rooms and Johnny Marr at Rock City to look forward to next year. I wish Derby had a more vibrant music scene and venue like it used to have.

As you said renamed, I had to look it up and see if it's where I thought it was. I saw my first gig there, in 1973. Slade, and The Sensational Alex Harvey band. Up until then, the loudest music I'd have heard would have been a school disco. My ears were ringing for the next two days 😀 Anag Ram

Carl Sagan
Pixies tonight at the Town and Country, aka the "O2 Forum". Sadly it's apparently one of those weird album tours where they don't play their hits. Just give the punters what they want!

One of the best AC/DC gigs I ever saw was at Punchestown a few years back (checks YouTube - bloody Nora, 15 years ago). Angus performing an amazing solo on the cherry-picker in the most torrential rainstorm. Premier ram
